Freedom help needed

We are booked in room 7410 but have been offered a 8e room panorama deck. Should we stay pat or accept the offer? Thanks in advance for your response....

We recently cruised on the Freedom and LOVED our 8e room. It was quiet and comfortable, but close to the Lido deck when we wanted some action. And, we were fairly close to the elevators, so it was a quick jaunt down to deck 5 as well.

Tough call. Loved 8E on one cruise since we were so close to Lido but the Empress deck room is convenient to all decks without waiting for elevators. We were after on Empress and I don't think we used the elevator except when we had luggage! But if you like to hang out on the Lido deck and want easy access to your room, Panorama is great. Also Panorama rooms are very, very quiet since there are so few rooms there.

We personally prefer the Empress Deck. Cruised on several ship and always pick Empress Deck.

Like the previous poster said this enables us to take the stairs everywhere we go - gotta walk off all those extra DOD we consume. LOL

I'll let you know how we like the Empress Deck next week - we sail on the Freedom on Sunday.

We love the Panorama Deck. Had it on the Conquest, Glory, Dream and are booked on it for our upcoming Freedom cruise. Once you have a cabin on the Panorama Deck, you won't want to go lower.

I can't help but wonder if the above posters that say to stay on the Empress Deck have ever been on the Panorama Deck. We had a cabin on the Empress Deck on the Victory, then moved up to the Panorama Deck on our next cruise. We'd never go back to the Empress.

We were on the empress deck on the Valor and then the panorama on the Freedom. We loved the Panorama so much that we booked it on the Breeze for March 2013. Great access to the Lido area, easy to use your own bathroom or go back to the room to make a drink. We spend the majority of our time while on the ship on lido so this is a great location for us.

I have to make a decison soon and I appreciate everyones input....This board is great!!

Were you offered a cabin on the Panorama deck for free? If so, I would jump at it. We LOVE that deck and just paid $30.00 more per person to sail in an 8D up there on our May cruise.

Nothing beats running down to the buffett and grabbing some HOT breakfast and bringing it back to the cabin to eat while getting ready for a day in port. I know you can do this no matter what deck you're on, but if you're on the same deck as the buffet, it's quicker and the food stays warmer.

Also, love to grab pizza and a drink on the way back to the cabin at the end of the night. Although it may not seem like much, we would be less likely to do it if we had to go up to get the stuff, then go down back to our rooms.

Have a great time, whatever you choose.

it would depend on where your cabin was located on the empress deck.

The OP is right there by the stairs/elevators. (can not ask for a better convenience.)

Going up on the panorama the noise from the theatre and foot traffic from kids running down the hall. Also potential noise on the balcony from all the activity on the deck. Today is decision day to change rooms or not. No decisive opinion as they appear to be pretty evenly split.

Any last minute thoughts here?

panarama deck has cabins in the forward- you are going to have to walk to the aft and go down to the lido deck.

with where you are now-- walk out of the room and go up two decks for food/pools with little travel.

down two decks for entertainment.

where you are now is the best location in terms of convenience.

There are doors that block off the noise from the theatre. Not that many families choose the Panorama Deck so there aren't normally kids running down the hall. We rarely hear any noise from the Lido deck activities on the balcony. Remember that you are forward of the Lido deck activities. While the ship is underway, the noise will be behind you and you will be traveling away from it.

As for the Empress deck being closer to the action, where do you plan on spending most of your time? On the Lido Deck or the Main Deck?
