DCP Posted December 8, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2012 We're renting a car at the MIA after the cruise gets back to spend a few days in Key West. What is the best way to get from the port to MIA to get the rental car? (there will be 4 of us)
Rare LHT28 Posted December 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2012 If the car rental company has a shuttle then that is the cheapest a taxi at flat rate of $24 + tip is another other option
eandj Posted December 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2012 YEP! Those are your choices. Don't take any "per person" shuttle. Cheaper to do a cab. There are suv cabs if you need more room...at the same rate.

Corby114 Posted December 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2012 If you are renting from Dollar, Thifty, Alamo, National, or Enterprise they provide free shuttle service from the Port Of Miami back to the Rental Car Center located across from Miami International Airport. Make sure you have your rental car reservation form handy because some shuttle drivers will ask for the documentation before entering the shuttle. The shuttles operate continuously and will return to the Rental Car Center when they have a full load of passengers. The trip takes approximately fifteen minutes. It's a very easy process from start to finish. I've done this with my family numerous times.
miamiyogi Posted December 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2012 We're renting a car at the MIA after the cruise gets back to spend a few days in Key West. The quickest way to Key West from Miami involves the Florida Turnpike, a cashless toll road. Every agency handles the tolling differently so read up here: https://www.sunpass.com/rentalcar Note with Dollar/Thrifty/Sunshine if you don't opt in to the toll program they will bill you $15 EACH TIME you go through a toll gantry.
