jmoak Posted December 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2012 I know carnival introduced a new pricing structure, but I can't seem to find any pack and go rates the last few weeks? Do they still do this? I used to could find a link where they came out each Wednesday. Any clarification is appreciated.

PreacherMan1977 Posted December 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2012 They have more rates now than you can shake a stick at. Makes me madder than a midget with a yo-yo! The Instant is the new "Pack-and-Go". The Super Saver is cheaper than the Early Saver but you don't get to pick your room and no price protection plus some other restrictions. HERE'S JUST SOME OF THE OPTIONS: Fun Select Plus Includes automatic best available upgrade, refundable deposit subject to cancellation terms, no change fee and you pick your stateroom. Fun Select Includes automatic two-category upgrade, refundable deposit subject to cancellation terms, no change fee and you pick your stateroom. Early Saver Choose your stateroom plus you get price protection; deposit is non-refundable; changes allowed for $50. Super Saver Stateroom will be assigned at check-in, non-refundable deposit, no changes permitted. ----- Add to this "More the Merrier", Past Guest, VIFP, Resident Rates, and Seasonal Promotions, Extra OBC... well you get the picture.... Nice to have options, right!

I am a little confused because I have seen that ES is no longer the cheapest rate. When I looked at a cruise I was thinking of booking yesterday, Past Guest Rate was $40 pp cheaper than ES. Couldn't I still book ES and get the cheaper past guest rate? Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

Early saver is now the lowest rate with a cabin assignment~ and you can not price match to Super Saver, Instant Saver or any other program that does not allow cabin selection at the time of booking. So if you can pick your cabin with the PG rate then you can price match to it~

fla2nc Posted December 19, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 19, 2012 Too many new rates with too many non-refundable deposits, change fees, etc...Loved the pack n go rates...sometimes too many choices are just too confusing...
TrinaLC Posted December 19, 2012 #10 Share Posted December 19, 2012 I would never leave picking the stateroom to the cruiseline, as I would hate hate hate to be above a noisy lounge or anything that would interrupt sleep. For that reason, I think the new pricing structure will reduce my future carnival cruises - by making it more likely I can find cheap rate + pick cabin on another line. I hope they rethink that limitation.

I believe this is what you're looking for. https://www.goccl.com/content/specials/documents/PKGO.pdf I made a note of this website about six months ago, still works with Pack & Go rates for January 2013. fla2nc Posted December 19, 2012 #13 Share Posted December 19, 2012 If you look at the dates at the bottom of that link , it is from the last week in November. That was the last pack n go offering. No longer valid  Why ? Carnival Why? Why are you discontinuing pack n go, future cruise certificates, etc...

Thanks for the link - Yes FLA2NC: I noticed it too...The flyer says those rates are only good until November 30th so I think that's from the OLD program. Not sure if it's still available to PVP for last minute sales, but I don't think it will be offered to the general public as "pack&gos" anymore. RE: EARLY SAVER: It ain't what it used to be! We used to be able to match to the CHEAPEST rate no matter what it was (P&G, Resident rate, etc) - now it is only to the cheapest rate WITH the cabin selection option. And now you may an extra $20-$40 for the privilege of booking ES! And yes, it is VERY confusing with all these options. I'm an idiot, so I thought it was just me at first when I saw all the new rates... but the Mrs. is VERY good with this stuff had a look and said "What are they thinking????" Lizzzys Posted December 20, 2012 #19 Share Posted December 20, 2012 Seems kind of scummy, to me. They told us that if we booked ES we would be guaranteed the lowest rate.. and now they come up with a new lower rate with no cabin assignment and they won't price-match (onboard credit) because they've created new rules??? What the heck good is early saver then?? I'll keep my money in my own pocket from now on instead of booking over a year earlier than my sailing to get the best rate. Jeez.
