JUST A SHORT/BRIEF (FOR ME) REVIEW OF THE 2-9-12 SAILING OF THE STAR..

This was my 6th NCL cruise and my second on the STAR..and I found her to be in better condition then before....also this was a much better trip. She was very clean, and not problems running. The service(with a couple of exceptions) was great, and the staff very friendly.

CABINS.. I had an inside, while my Friends had a ocean view. We had the same room steward, and he was great. very attentive to all request, and did an outstanding job all around..

MEET AND GREET... Ours was not well attended... Over 60 signed up, but less than half showed... This does not sit well for Cruise Critic Members...The ships officers responded well to all questions put forth, and coffee, juice etc was served by the staff.

SHOWS...Attended only two...the crew show, done very well, don't miss the Fountains.....also saw Elements...very well done indeed...

BAR AND LOUNGE.... Our favorite was GATSBYS... Ceaser, (don't know what you really want to call him) waitter.....is one crazy guy....But the service, and friendliness of all was exceptional, and the music is FINE...

DINNING... We ate mostly in Versailles (SP)....very good food, and excellent service...also lunch in BLUE LAGOON, .. OK for lunch....ate at two specialty dinning room...LE BISTRO.... nothing can be said except GREAT. also tried the MODERNO, the Brazilian one....Food Good, but served to fast, I know, tell them to slow down...but.....and all the flavors of the different meats seem to run together....but a great salad bar....

CASINO.... Kind to me....(I broke even) ..lol.....lots of fun, not too Smokey, great staff (except management.. not great response from them, they seem to be too busy with everything else,,,had our slot pull there)

WEATHER... Very good for time of year....in the low 80's

BOARDING AND DISEMBARKING.... Boarding went very smooth, arrived at pier about 11;00 am, and was aboard around noon....Disembarking went very smooth also, except lost my lugage...(found it next day) and shipped to me, got it three day later....not too bad...

Avery good trip was had by all, and have number 7 booked for April on the SUN...

any question, just ask......jim

Sounds like you had a great trip. Only a few more weeks till we go. A review I just read on another site said they had to tender into Roatan(on the Star) so to get an early one if you have a tour. With all my reading, nothing has been mentioned about tendering into Roatan and our tour we have booked there doesn't mention it either. Need the scoop from someone who has just returned. (or others) Thanks!

Jim it was a pleasure to meet you. I'm like you - I was disappointed we had all those folks who were gung ho on the Meet and Greet and then didn't show up. It is real rude in my book to pull stuff like that.

The bridge tour was great. The captain handled ours. He is an extremely charming man and had some very interesting stories.
