Cruzinram Posted January 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2013 If you contact the norovirus and cannot go on shore, is this considered a Trip Interruption by the insurance company?
klfrodo Posted January 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2013 If you contract noro virus and are medically confined to your cabin by the ship physician,,,, then I believe the answer is yes
Rare cruisestitch Posted January 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2013 There are many cruise insurers and each has his/her own rules. You would need to contact the cruise insurer to find out what is or isn't covered. Many would not cover this as the cruise is already underway, but yours might. cruiseco Posted January 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2013 Many, but not all, insurers include "quarantine" under their covered reasons for trip cancellation and trip interruption. If the plan you're looking includes this coverage then you need to contact them with this question. I know of several cruisers who have had this exact situation happen to them and who were reimbursed for the value of the days they were confined to their cabin. But that's anecdotal only and shouldn't be relied on as to what YOUR insurer would do in similar cases.
