cruzeluver Posted January 15, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2013 We have done cave tubing twice and loved it! The short hike through the rainforest is unbelievable! If we go back we will probably snorkel though as Belize is supposed to have some of the best reefs in the world.

buddylover Posted January 15, 2013 #12 Share Posted January 15, 2013 IF.....you go to Belize....our port stop has been cancelled.....however, we have done cave tubing which is really really FUN, and were going to do a CCL tour this time (shock of all shocks) which sounded wonderful, River Wallace/Altun Ha tour, which takes you thru the rainforest up the River Wallace on a boat, then by bus to tour the Mayan Ruins of Altun Ha. Just MHO.

It was a 2 hour bus ride from the port, but sooo worth it. We actually got to climb the ruins. for me this was the highlight of our cruise!!! We booked through the ship. If you do this tour, you will NOT have any time for anything else!! Happy Cruising!!

Pa Cruiser43 Posted January 21, 2013 #16 Share Posted January 21, 2013 We did the zip line and cave tubing excursion. That was really fun! Definitely try it! It was just a great day. We went to the Altun Ha Ruins and a river cruise on the Old Belize River the next time we were there. We also enjoyed this very much. The ruins did mean a lot of walking, especially if you want to climb the ruin. I went to the top, but hubby has bad knees and opted to stay on the ground and take pictures. This time we may just take a bus tour and hang out at the Wet Lizard. Our son and daughter-in-law are doing the cave tubing. He has a fear of heights so nixed the zip line!
