:confused:Hello - would appreciate some help please. We want to go on the White Pass & Yukon Route railway journey whilst in Skagway (sailing on Millennium). We are in the port the same day as they do the Fraser Meadows Steam excursion as well as the usual 20 mile trip to White Pass. If anyone has done the Fraser Meadows could you tell me if you go all the way on the Steam train, or do you go as far as White Pass on the diesel engine and then change to the steam engine? Also any thoughts on these trips would be useful.

Many thanks

I was there in May 2011, with P&O, and the steam train excursion was both ways.

(Our diesel excursion went up on the train and came back by bus, with two or three stops. The steam train was on its first outing of the summer, and unfortunately was very short of puff and had to keep stopping for a rest. By the time it reached the top it was so late, it had to turn round and come back.)
