United airline baggage restrictions

Does anybody know what the weight limit is for carry on baggage on United Airlines ? I can find the size dimensions on their website but no weight limits , any help much appreciated

We normally fly United. On anything over 50 lbs an excess weight fee is charged.

US airlines haven't, in my experience, been enforcing a weight limit, like European airlines do. I know United hasn't been.

There is no carry on weight limit per se on United, but they absolutely will not help you lift a carry on bag into the overhead bin.

 

If a bag appears to be too big/too heavy you may be forced to gate check it.

I've never heard of a weight limit for CARRY ON luggage, only dimensions. I guess it can be as heavy as you can manage on your own, since you'll need to get it to the gate and into the overhead bin!

In the past year I've flown domestically and int'l (not UA ) and have never had my carryon luggage weighed.

You need to call UA for a definitive answer ... doesn't really matter what we think or what we've experienced.
