How were you notified petrakae?

Did you discover it on the cruise personaliser, receive an email or notified some other way?

We booked two guarantee cabins and for both cabins, we received an email notification with the updated invoice showing the cabin number.

For one cabin, we booked a B5 and were upgraded to an A1 however the other cabin we booked D8 and only got D7. No complaints here though ;)

Went on to Voyage Personaliser one day and there it was under Itinerary. Booked A7 got A4.:) Could not believe it came through so early. We always heard that they were not allocated until the last week or so..... Have not received any e-mails.

:)We have today been allocated our stateroom, we originally booked a C4 Singapore/Southampton in May 2012 and had a assigned stateroom, but later in the year a GWY on a D4 from Hong Kong to Southampton was offered so we changed booking with little extra £

To-day we have been rewarded with a D1 we are pleased with that, its one of the largest inside staterooms.:)

Thanks Peter and Barbara, sounds good, just hope we don't get too much noise from the casino above us. Also our cabin seems to have a space either side, just wondering if there is anything there that might be noisy.

As far as I'm aware, the cabin categories change in May.

The cabin categories have changed haven't they? Mine isn't a guaranteed one but it says 1D which I think is the smallest?

Pushka,

Yes, the cabin categories change beginning April/May. I assume you mean category "ID" for your cabin rather than "1D". That would be on the QM2 beginning May of this year. All the inside cabins on the QM2 are essentially the same size except for those that are wheelchair accessible. The difference between the various "I" categories on the QM2 is based on location (high vs. low deck and midships vs. forward/aft) rather than size.

The upgrade spanisheyes got was on the QV. Both the QV and QE have "Deluxe Inside" cabins which are larger than the "Standard Inside" cabins. There is no such "Deluxe" vs. "Standard" distinction for inside cabins on the QM2.

Regards,

John.

I checked my cruise personaliser this morning and we have also been allocated our stateroom on QV ex Hong Kong. Like Officeboy I had started to think that it wouldn't come through until she departed Sydney. We can all relax now.

Katzoe;

I hope the upgrade fairy visited and you had an upgrade to your GWY

Thanks for your research Officeboy. The Q3 does look spacious in the above plan but I would have preferred a Q5 or Q6 with the view from the balcony looking over the stern.

I believe the sitting area in the Q3 is cramped. Enough said. I am really looking forward to my first QV cruise. It is going to be a wonderful experience and sailing out of Hong Kong is always very exciting.
