SusieS Posted February 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Hi- would love to get some feedback on Princess excursions. Are the ones rated Connoisseur" that much better that regular, or "Most Popular" excursions?? Trying to decide in particular for Rome & Florence. Thanks so much- Susie & Sam

juniper berries Posted February 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Hi My dh and I did the connosseur excursion in Rome. We had a fabulus time and the tour was not rushed even though you go to so many sites in one day. The thing we like about the tour is they use head sets so you can hear the guide talking while you are looking around and like me taking pictures and not have to worry about about back ground noise. We had lunch at the hotel Savoy in Rome. Aiso the day we were there was Sept 11 2010 they gave every one our tour rosewood roserys which was realy nice. It is a long day with alot of walking but so worth it. You see the most important sites in Rome in a day and have a great lunch as well. I hope this helps with you planning. I would recomend booking early as our tour was sold out long before the cruise.:)

miagirl Posted February 12, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Susie, I haven't taken the Connoisseur tours in Rome or Florence, but I have in Istanbul and Athens because those ports were more once in a lifetime ports for us and I wanted to have the best experience we could in a day. The group size is smaller than the "most popular" groups and we had top notch tour guides each time. You can mover around easier when the guide isn't trying to keep track of 40 people and you get much more of the guide's time and attention. We thought they were well worth the price. You should keep in mind that your time in both those cities will be limited due to their distance from their ports. Hope that helps. Nan
