Ladysilver Posted February 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2013 I'm wondering if those of you who were booked on one of the Triumph's cruises that have now been cancelled are going to rebook on the Triumph after cleaning/ disinfecting/engine repairs??? Hmmmmmmmm??? :)
marimojo Posted February 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2013 No. We rebooked on Magic. I have no desire to sail on triumph anymore. What happened to all those that were on the nasty cruise really bummed me out.
yogimax Posted February 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2013 If Carnival were smart, they would repair the engines, clean the ship up as best as possible and SELL it. It will forever be known as the Ship from Hell.

gfh77665 Posted February 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2013 No, all they have to do is clean it up, redecorate it, and make some minor deck modifications, and then RENAME IT. That, along with maybe swapping it out with another ship and placing it in another port. With the redecorations, the memories will soon fade. Chief1369 Posted February 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Wasn't booked on it, but won't have a problem booking on it after it's repaired/cleaned/disinfected, etc
Maggypurple Posted February 16, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2013 I was on it. The crew told me it will be worked on in the Mobile dry dock. That's why they took us there instead of Florida which at the time do to how much we drifted would have been just as close. After getting it running it will be sailed to Italy, gutted, refurbished, and renamed because of the stigma with the Triumph name.

CENTEX CRUISER Posted February 16, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 16, 2013 We were on it in Oct and are booked for next Oct, and will stay booked..All the damage can be repaired, and I am not in the least worried about it..The food and service were excellent, and probably will be better now...:)
hillbillycruisers Posted February 16, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 16, 2013 I am booked on the Triumph for the Nov. 4th cruise, and will not cancel. We've had two great cruises on her, and expect this one to be great too. Maybe she'll be even improved, after all this scrutiny and bad PR. Lets hope so!!:)
spyingeyes Posted February 16, 2013 #13 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Was booked for 3/21 and have already rebooked her for 6/13...I'm confident she will be repaired, thoroughly disinfected, and back to her beautiful state. Carnival has too much at stake for that not to happen.
cruisetexas Posted February 16, 2013 #14 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Yup.....we were scheduled to go 2/28 and had also done the same trip on 9/23. We're in the process of rescheduling. I have NO issues getting back in the Triumph. Susan

The one were it has a breakdown and was towed to Mobile and "Triumphed" over the problem and knowbody died? Or the one where it cruised all over the world and people loved it? I think the only one wanting it Gutted is you.
txponycruiser Posted February 18, 2013 #16 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Booked for June way before any of this happened. I will be on her provided she is ready to go! If not, we'll reschedule to another ship.
GGBNJ130 Posted February 18, 2013 #17 Share Posted February 18, 2013 A bunch of us are excited about considering booking Carnival Triumph once it re-sails, i've already been on Triumph in 2002, the only thing we don't like is having to travel to Galveston, TX to board

Chief93 Posted February 18, 2013 #19 Share Posted February 18, 2013 I was booked on the Triumph and would currently be in Progresso had there been no "event." I have told my Carnival PVP to call me IMMEDIATELY when the Triumph is released back into service. I will gladly book its very first voyage, hopefully it will be cheap.... My hope is it comes backa week or two early and they sell a bunch of cheap cabins trying to fill the ship.
rjackieb Posted February 18, 2013 #20 Share Posted February 18, 2013 We weren't booked on her before this happened, but we're in the process of booking a cruise on her for this winter. No hesitation whatsoever.

I also thought that maybe then would give it the "Sunshine" treatment, that they might take it out of service, upgrade it and return it to service under a new name. BUT, they are taking bookings on it starting in April. I think that if they planned to take it comlpetely out of service they would have cancelled all of those cruises, or at least stop taking new bookings. Either way, I'll book it in a heartbeat.
