Does anyone have a cruise compass with stuff to do with a 1 year old. What kind of programs are available? Even with parents

There are a few play groups (Fisher Price maybe?) they last about 30 minutes. Other than that, there is nothing for a 1 year old except whatever you do to occupy him/her :D

just subscribing.......we sail in march 2014, Have never sailed this class ship. We have done the Jewel and Serenade out of SJ We found that the ships kind of shut down so to speak in port, can anyone tell me how it is for The Adventure on port days? We have excursions booked but not in St lucia or St Croix. We did the Allure then the Jewel, It was a little hard after being on a ship that doesn't stop to one the comes to a screeching halt in port.

No matter we just love cruising!!

I have also ask on the SJ area which hotel to choose after the cruise as we have never stayed after. I would like to see old San Juan ive been there twice and not had time to see it. but also have the option of the beach if we want it. I just don't know what to do! any opinion would be great! Ive seen good and bad reviews for so many hotels I cant make up my mind.

Not sure what you mean by "shut down" on port days ... but yes many things are not open while in port but you can still get food, spa services, and pools/bars etc are open - naturally the casino & shops are closed in port.

We've stayed our last few AOS cruises at the Marriott Stellaris .... about $20taxi to/from airport; and very easy to get taxi around town & it's on the beach. GREAT burger joint "BUNS" across the street

Leaving for San Juan in 39 more sleeps and I am getting really excited! I've sailed on the Adventure at least 12 times, and I can't wait to step onboard again next month!!! :D

Hope you have a great cruise. We are currently booked for NYE, looking forward to see the changes after the revitalization. Hope you can bring some info back to us about those changes. :):)

Good morning, I've been reading this thread as my first trip on AOS is in two weeks!! We've booked the Caribbean Sail to Christmas & Honeymoon Coves

thru the ship. Has anyone done it? I'm wondering how crowded the two locations are, what boat/company the contract with to take us, did you enjoy it?

I posted on the port board but didn't get any replies. From a search I found one person on the old AOS thread who recommends it. Has anyone done it in the last year? Just looking for a little input.

Thank you.

Greetings! We are booked on AOS to toddle over from Southampton to Norway at the end of May.

Three in our party - myself, wife and 15 year old daughter.

Wife and I took our first cruise in October 2012 for out honeymoon, 6 nights around the Western Med on AOS sister, Navigator of the Seas.

This will be our second cruise and daughter's first.

I gather that for the most part, Adventure and Navigator are twins, but I'm sure if there are any big differences you'll be sure to tell us.

I've yet to read all the original thread, but have gone through this one and not seen mention of the Norway route. Anyone taken that trip? We go to Kristiansand, Alesund, Flam and Stavanger.

Has anyone experience of the Teenager's area/club? Daughter will have turned 15 shortly before we head off and we'd like to be able to give her a better idea of what will be available there than the few lines in the brochure or we've found on-line. She is dyspraxic (which is on the mild end of the autistic spectrum) so can be a little uncertain of large crowds and loud noises. (I know many of you parents of teens would love to have one that does not live with the music dialled permanently up to 11 ;) ). So any information about what the teen club environment is like, activities etc would be appreciated.

Hi there, we have booked the NYE Cruise as well, I have noticed there isn't a Roll Call as yet? Is that because there is not usually a lot of regular CC people on this type of cruise?

We felt we needed to book early, given we are coming from the other side of the world. Going to spend soem time on the mainland as well, couldn't really justify coming all that way for a 7 day cruise. Have only been on HA previously.

Just had to comment on here because Adventure was our honeymoon ship so she's very special to us! Cannot wait to get back on her in April! Bringing the 3 kids (8, 5, 3 1/2) on their very first cruise for our 10 year anniversary. So excited to start my kids on these great cruise adventures beginning with the beautiful Adventure of the Seas!

I am sure this has been asked but is there a Chops on Adventure of the Seas? Thank you!!!

Not presently. However, later this year Adventure is going into revitalization dry dock, so it's likely she will get a Chops then.

Sorry if this has asked or answered before...but has anyone any experience of cabin 9694 the RFS on the aft.

We have this booked for 26th oct and was just wondering if anyone had stayed in an RFS and also is it really a vety long walk to lifts etc.

We had a corner aft on Serenade last October and it wasnt too long except late at night...lol

I know Adventure is a bigger ship but it is hard to judge from the deck plans.

Thank you for any info

That would be great. However, it is not showing on the revitalization list....unless they have changed it since I last looked. The only restaurant changes listed is the the changeover from Portofino to Giovanni's.

I've been on AOS 3 times out of PR so I should know the answer; but what time is all aboard? For the life of me, I can't remember....

Usually listed as 7:30. Muster is usually around 5:45 with a "makeup muster" around 8:00 for anyone that misses.

Sorry...have never stayed in RFS but have stayed in the aft cabins. We don't think the walk is too long and I am mobility challenged. Might be different though after rough seas or too many beverages. Lol

I just cruised in 9694 on AOS's sister ship, Explorer in November. The RFS on both of these ships are exactly the same. The walk is significant, but to us we didn't care, we loved the RFS :D The space inside the cabin and especially the balcony was well worth any other inconvenience. There were only 2 of us in this suite for 9 days and it was fantastic :)

What type of cabin is 1688 & 1388. Balcony? I've tried searching RCCL website & can't find it. We've only cruised Disney & are seriously considering AOS next year. Thanks!

We just sailed in 1688 last week. It was awesome size wise and balcony wise. When I peeked at the junior suites on floor 10 I would swear that our room was the same size or maybe even larger since we had less built-in desks/storage along the wall - just the typical set-up for a regular cabin. The balcony is about 3-4x larger than are regular balcony. There is a bar that goes down and an enclosed part of the balcony. This may bother some. However, there is no glass on the railing so your view when sitting down is clearer than a regular balcony and you can look over the railing and see the ocean. We had two recliners, two chairs and a large coffee table outside. I heard from the family in 1388 that they had no lounge chars (recliners) over there.

One negative about this room is the vibration and some noise from the vibration. I used ear-plugs and this fixed the noise problem for me. It did not seem to bother my daughter. I would still recommend the room, but everyone is different so take this into consideration.

I was able to get this room for an awesome price $865/adults (3rd person about 600 or so . . .) so it was totally worth it to us. We almost upgraded to a junior suite for $1,000 but were so glad we didn't once this room became available and we were able to get it. If you book, watch for price drops.

Cheers,

Just of AOS last week. As stated already, some things are open on port days, but most people do seem to get off the ship, at least during part of the day. We didn't have anything planned for Antigua and we had the ship to ourselves, practically. You said you don't have plans for St. Lucia or St. Kitts. We did Cosol on St. Lucia and enjoyed it. It is a full day with about 1 hour left over for shopping at the port. We felt we had to see the Pitons, but maybe you've been there before. For St. Croix we just got off the boat and walked 3 minutes to the beach for swimming, sunning and snorkeling and did some shopping for souvenirs at the port area. It is a great place to have nothing planned, I think. The ship was pretty crowded again that day by early afternoon as a lot of people had the same plans. They had a poolside barbecue around 2:30 pm when we returned.

I heard El Convento is a great hotel in OSJ, but I also heard it is pricey. We stayed at the Caribe, but not the best choice if you want to hang around OSJ.

Enjoy your trip! I wish I were back on the Adventure now!

Sailing March 9 in room 9690. Trying to find some reviews for this room but no luck. Has anyone stayed in this room? If so what was it like. Is the balcony small? What about noise from the ship or vibration. Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

Thank you...x.....I thought it quite funny when it was 'rocky boats ' on Serenade when after a few beverages we were zig zagging down the corridor to our cabin. .and no one could tell if it was the ship or the wine....lol
