Mulege Posted June 28, 2013 #127 Share Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Where were food photos of The Porch? Bland? Well, The Porch has Paninni's.....some salads too....desserts as well. Can't remember the whole menu. I have eaten there a couple of times before. It is not exoctic but as for bland? Guess it would depend on what you like. I enjoyed my food:) My error, it is frm page 4 Lawn Club Grill. I meant bland in the plate presentation not the taste. The pictures on this post showed some skewers on one plate with nothing else. No criticism, just asked if this is how it is served. I'm sure the taste is very good as I have experienced on X. midwestchick Posted July 21, 2013 #131 Share Posted July 21, 2013 I love this thread, cruising first time with celeb soon, hope the food lives up to this. Ditto. I too hope the food lives up to this. I've read several times you can order 2 entrees in the MDR. Does this include lobster as well? I could eat lobster and escargot every day. :D :D

Maybe someone else can give you more current information. But normally, yes you may order 2 entrees.

Rare Lois R Posted July 21, 2013 #135 Share Posted July 21, 2013 I think the lobster is served on formal night in the MDR. Hi Nancy, I know that part....I guess I didn't explain it well. The last couple of times I had dinner in the main dining room on formal night they did not have regular lobster. It was sort of seafood medly...one of the items was some lobster meat. That is why I said maybe someone who has eaten in the main dining room very recently can give you more first hand information.

Or maybe someone who has just returned will see this thread and will see your question:). Years ago they actually had your waiter take that lobster out of the shell for you. Despegue Posted July 21, 2013 #138 Share Posted July 21, 2013 Since a couple of months, Celebrity serves again a lobster tail, no more medley, unless they have changed AGAIN since Januari:confused:

You are probably referring to the third pic in my post #48. Yep, that's how they are served. You order your main grill items and they are served all together, but along with the side dishes in separate china. I've posted a picture of the creamed corn side dish in post #

UniPac Posted July 22, 2013 #143 Share Posted July 22, 2013 Nice thread! I did take some food pictures, too - hope i got it right and it is okay to post them here. midwestchick Posted July 22, 2013 #146 Share Posted July 22, 2013 They had beautiful, large lobster tails in the MDR on our last two cruises. Was that on the Millenium? After looking at the pictures before you post and hearing about lobster again, I'm drooling.
Lysingers Posted July 28, 2013 #147 Share Posted July 28, 2013 Just thought I'd get this thread back on page one again. I really enjoy looking at everyone's food pictures. Sadly, although I often take my camera to the MDR with me, I never actually end up taking any pictures. Probably lack the self-control to wait to dig-in! pdcat21 Posted July 28, 2013 #148 Share Posted July 28, 2013 Was on Solstice in June and we had nice large lobster tails on the second formal night. And yes they asked how many we wanted. I had two and they were huge! They did come around and take them out of the shells for us. The only thing I didn't like was that they just drizzle the drawn butter over it if you want butter instead of just giving you a little cup of it. resstation Posted July 29, 2013 #149 Share Posted July 29, 2013 Thank you for posting these lovely pictures. We were on the Jewel of the Seas last year and there were several times where I was unable to finish my meal because it was, in a word, tasteless. I thought cruise food had gone downhill for sure! I had always remembered having the best food on cruises and I'm definitely a member of the "Clean Plate Club" but strangely could not bring myself to finish my JOS meals. SO happy to see these pictures and looking forward to sailing on the Silhouette in March!
