dotsofunn Posted April 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2013 I am looking at a new 2013 Ferry schedule and it looks like you are Not able to take your motorbike from Dockyard to St. Georges on the Ferry. I had read on previous posts that this was possible??? Did this change? http://www.seaexpress.bm/Documents/Ferry/Summer%20Ferry%20Schedule%202013.pdf
njhorseman Posted April 5, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2013 I'm surprised. Perhaps it's a typo.
DeltaOne Posted April 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2013 I am looking at a new 2013 Ferry schedule and it looks like you are Not able to take your motorbike from Dockyard to St. Georges on the Ferry. I had read on previous posts that this was possible??? Did this change? This doesn't sound right -- many Bermudians take their scooters on the ferry, it's not just the tourists. njhorseman Posted April 5, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2013 It just occurred to me that it could have something to do with the ferry they're leasing this year for the Dockyard-St. George's run. Perhaps there's no place to park the motor bikes on this boat. Edit: looking at the layout of the ferry, I think I may be right: http://vineyardfastferry.com/Marthas_Vineyard_Ferry_Seating.pdf
sousak78 Posted April 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2013 I think njhorseman is right - I recall them mentioning in the media the ferry that will be making the Dockyard-StGeorges run this summer will be the leased ferry, which probably does not have space for scooters. dotsofunn Posted April 8, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted April 8, 2013 I called the ferry office.....and no one seemed to know. They asked me to call back after April 15th and they hoped to have more information then. I will post again after the 15th when I call them back. dismom3 Posted April 22, 2013 #9 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Does anyone know if you can take the scooter on ferry to St. George? If I can't, then I will rent scooter in St. George and return at Dockyard.

B4andAFT Posted August 11, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 11, 2013 Does this apply to the mobility scooters as well?
brianz0099 Posted August 12, 2013 #13 Share Posted August 12, 2013 No motor scooters permitted on the Dockyard- St. George's ferry last week but I saw a few wheelchairs. I would guess a scooter needed for mobility issues would be permitted. The crew and ferry staff always boarded those in wheelchairs before everyone else.
