Oasis/Allure: 2 Junior Suites or Royal Family Suite?

Recommended Posts

We have an opportunity to upgrade from 2 connecting Junior Suites (deck 8 hump cabins) on the Oasis, to a Royal Family Suite (deck 9) for what I consider to be a reasonable amount $. Similar in total square footage but looks pretty nice.

Anybody experienced this cabin and have an opinion on it?

I guess the main question you need to ask is? How many people sharing the two suites or the royal suite; and how many total bathrooms? The Royal Suite will give you and your family concierge service; which is nice

There are 4 of us (typically there must be a minimum of 5 to book these accommodations) but I cannot seem to find much information on this cabin. Other than the suite perks, having a living room is nice but it basically seems to be the equivalent of 2 jr suites.

The large bedroom is about the size of a JS and the bath about the same, with tub. The other bedroom will be a small inside bedroom with a shower only in the bathroom.

I believe the Royal Suite and Royal Family Suite; the concierge will meet you at the check in and personally escort you onto the ship.

Not the RFS, just the Royal Suite. A RFS is not nearly as luxurious as the other suites, but great for a family.

From further research on the cabin it looks quite nice, with the larger balcony being a major plus. It's a port side cabin, while most of the best viewing is on the starboard side which we preferred.

We've got all our shows and specialty restaurants booked...and aren't big drinkers so the benefit of having a CL isn't really a big deal, but it's certainly a nice benefit for an uncrowded quick snack and/or coffee.

Whether that's worth a couple hundred dollars pp...well I've got to contemplate that one. :)

Just FYI, the CL on Allure and Oasis serve a great cooked to order breakfast and lunch so even if you're not into the cocktail hour you may still find that you'll enjoy the CL.

Also, free luggage valet can be a big plus depending on your flight time and airline.

I'm considering the Royal Family Suite for our next cruise on Allure but when I try and find the suite and cost on the RCCL website, it won't even pull the option up of the RFS. Does anyone know the cost of the RFS for a family of 4? What is the max capacity? Also, what are the benefits of the concierge? Thanks!!

I wouldn't hesitate.....upgrade before it is gone. The suite perks are worth it !

There is an agent on shore that will escort you on board, and he name is Robert. He has escorted us on the RS and RLS. We have not been escorted on the SLS, but have chatted to Robert just to say hi. There is also a lady who assists, but Robert is the point man.

We let him escort us to the boarding ramp and then part ways. The concerege would meet us, but we have discovered this to be way faster than being escorted. We did it once, and that was enough as we are not big fans of pomp and circumstance.

Not sure if they do it for the RFS.

Thank you for the correct info. I read on a thread the Royal Suite was escorted; and assumed RFS did too. I stand corrected; thank you.

Cheers, Either way the op will have a great time.
