Port Canaveral Plans for Mega Expansion

If all goes to plan, Port Canaveral could see the building of another new cruise terminal capable of servicing the largest cruise ships on the high seas this fall (this announcement comes less than a year from opening Terminal 6, Port Canaveral's newest and largest cruise terminal). Port Canaveral is aggressively seeking to unseat Miami as the busiest cruise port in the world. I say, go for it PC! I love this place! PC would be a wonderful cruise mecca...it virtually aready is!:D

Good for them! While I love Fort Lauderdale and enjoy sailing from Port Everglades, someone needs to give them a "push" to upgrade/enlarge some of their terminals. The Celebrity and Royal Caribbean ships docking at Pier 25 have far too many passengers than that terminal can properly handle.

Pc is a pleasure to get to and cruise out of. Take it all away from South Florida. Kind of prejudice, we live in Central Florida, which makes it an easy trip for us to PC.

An announcement within the next 2 weeks will be made that Port Canaveral will get another Royal Caribbean ship homeported at PC likely during the winter of 2014-2015. Port management is also in talks with Royal Caribbean to land one of their mega ships to the port, which could accelerated the building of a new terminal! Additionally, port management is in talks with other cruise lines for homeporting their ships at PC. Check out the article below:

Too bad it would be crazy expensive to get a monorail line built between MCO and Port Canaveral. :) Finding cost effective and convenient transportation can be a hassle sometimes.
