NoWhiners Posted April 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Hi All I am sure this is a dumb question but we have never embarked from a port in Europe and I want to be sure my assumptions are correct. We will be cruising in and out of Athens in October (HAL Prinsendam). I am assuming the timing for cruise loading and departure is the same as in the US, i.e., we can get to the port at noonish, checkin and then board for our 5 Pm departure. Do we have to be onbaord 90 minutes early like in the US (do they have similar security requirements? Are there any differences in boarding at Athens vs a US port? just want to be sure we don't screw up, thanks for any help/insights/experience. paul929207 Posted April 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2013 You are right the boarding process for HAL in Europe is basicly the same as in the US. Get there ar noon & you will be fine
CruiserBruce Posted April 29, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2013 HAL's boarding procedures are fleetwide, and only occaisionally change due to unexpected events. Boarding is mostly a cruise line issue, not so much a port issue.
NoWhiners Posted April 29, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted April 29, 2013 thanks Paul and CruiserBruce--I will sleep better knowing the plan is the same no matter which port we leave from. Now, back to planning that day in Athens! ML
