... After your most recent cruise, you mark time by what you did on the cruise exactly a week ago. (Example: on Wednesday, I was in Roatan)

... The word "cruising" ceased to have anything to do with picking up girls while driving around in a red convertible.

... You know which Carnival ship class has what whale tail shape. (Fantasy class is cone-shaped, Spirit class has a red window, Dream class is short and wide, etc.)

... You got into a bar fight with a Royal Caribbean fan

... You break into a goofy grin when you hear the song "Apple Bottom Jeans", and you're in a rough nightclub at the time.

... When you hear the phrase "whale tail", you think of a cruise ship and not a large marine mammal.

... You inadvertently capitalized the word "carnival" when you were describing an event with bad food and questionable rides.

You have a shelf of 24K Gold Plastic Ships on a Stick for every cruise you have been on......

You have memorized Day 1 of the Carnival Dinner Menu .... (because it really hasn't changed much in 15 years)...

You can predict the cycle of CC topics that rotate every few months.... Tips, Kids, Music, Feebees, Chair Hogs, Crazy Wild Kids and Smoking!! :p

But overall, you know you are addicted to Carnival Cruising when you still hear Kathie Lee Gifford sing "Aint we got fun" in your dreams......

You can certainly bring it up to me! I would love to sit and chat with you sometime about all the cruises you've been on. I'm addicted too!:D

I'd love to chat cruises. Im not allowed to use that word with my family. I barely say anything when I get home from a cruise for fear people will get upset. My mom gets air sick, car sick, sea sick .. you name it, if it moves she hates it.

Why do you'all think Im on CC.. to get my cruise "fix"

You've named your deck at home "the lido deck"..complete with cruise decor.

Your wallpaper on your work computer is the next ship you sail on.

When people ask when your next cruise is...you tell them how many days, hours, and minutes.

You don't understand how people don't like cruising and look at them like a freak.

You get on the ship after a year...and the bar waiter calls you by first name and brings your favorite drink...without you asking since he remembers you from the previous years.

You know where the secret decks are.

You are a platinum member of the Balcony Club....

I thought start a “you know that you are addicted to cruising” carnival edition. If you are game please add to the list!

You know that you’re addicted to cruising if…

…you spend way too much time on zydecocruiser’s site looking at food porn

…you know who zydecocruiser is

…you have donated to zydecocruiser’s site

…you go on cruise critic more that you get on facebook

…you go find the MDR menu online and plan our your meals so you will know what to order

…you think about cruising all the time

…you wish that you were cruising right now

…you get excited when you hear the words “lido deck”

…you know the cruise directors and are friends with the on facebook

…your PVP’s number is plugged into your mobile phone

…your PVP has your number programmed into their personal mobile phone

...people tell you that you are addicted to cruising

…you measure things in how many cruises that would cost

…when Carnival has had it’s PR issues you were just wondering how much prices would drop on your Early Saver booked cruises

…you miss the future cruise certificates

... You are moving to Miami to be closer to the port.

... You don't bring a camera on a cruise any more since you can't take any pictures that you don't already have.

... You come aboard and greet Amondo who was your cabin steward on one of your previous cruises.

... John Heald sends you a Christmas card every year.

... You open up a small shop to sell Platinum gift momentoes.

... The kennel gives you a 10 percent discount since you are considered VIP.

... There are no new Carnival ships to sail. You sailed them all.

... There are no new ports to visit. You visited them all.

... The Captain calls you to the Bridge to ask for your advice.

... You are 75 years old and have requested a position on any Carnival ship.

... You don't unpack your luggage but just keep bringing it back.

Oh, so I'm not the only one who does that? :o;):D

How about when you know every itinerary and embarkation port of every ship because you constantly stalk Carnival's website looking for your next cruise, and you don't know why people look at you crazy when you talk about them off the top of your head during casual vacation conversation.

Guilty as charged! :o:D

My friends once caught me "memorizing all the cruises". We were in New Orleans for a land trip, and I insisted going to the port at 4:00 PM to see the Conquest sail. They were surprised how I knew the ship by name, especially after reading it on the ship's hull, although having heard stories from my first cruise, they understood my enthusiasm. I was in as good a mood as Conquest's passengers.

A newbie cruiser friend from the gym took her first cruise on the Elation back when she was in Mobile for a brief while. I was like "Yeah, the Elation just repositioned from San Diego because the Fantasy left Mobile to go to Charleston, and....." She looked at me like WTH?

Then there are the times when people will be telling you about their cruise and can't remember a port.

"We were on the Carnival Glory and went to Puerto Rico, the private island, Turks & Caicos, and I can't remember the other one...."

"Your other stop was St. Thomas! That's the other port on that itinerary, St. Thomas!"

"Oh yeah...." :)

And you also know who Firefly333, Froufie, Serene56 are... Because they've been CC members forever!

Froufie rocks, she's a family friend and I'm passing this onto her! :) and you are addicted when u find a cheap cruise to tack on the end of a family function like my family is doing next month :)

"Oh yeah...." :)

And it baffles you how can people just not remember a port. It's their cruise, and they don't remember? Probably because they don't spend time writing reviews afterwards, which helps with remembering things. Of course, on very port-intensive cruises, like the current Valor itinerary, forgetting a port can happen even to the Cruise Critic crowd, especially when they're more alike than different.

It baffles you even more if someone doesn't remember their ship. At all. As in,

Other person: I went on a Carnival cruise.

You: Cool, what ship?

Other person: I don't remember.

You: What do you mean? Was there a red skylight in the steakhouse? Was it a classic shape without balconies? Where was the embarkation port?

Other person: You can't expect me to remember little details like that! And what's "embarkation"?

You: :eek::eek::eek:

Also more symptom of addiction.

... Your colleague finds out you went on a cruise, and wants a suggestion for his own cruise. You name 4 different ships, their complete itineraries, and good cabins for each ship.

... Your friends always know how to cheer you up by using words corresponding to Carnival ship names in a sentence.

Is it bad that I've only been on one cruise and already do a lot of the stuff previously mentioned? :p

My additions:

- Loading pictures of the next ship I cruise on along with pictures of the ports of call onto a digital picture frame so that I can see a slideshow at all times.

- Placing the frame next to the TV so that it's always in DH's view to try and get him as excited as I am.

- Driving my DD crazy by pointing out signs such as Club "Paradise", "Lido" Street, etc just because they make me think of cruising.

All the websites in your favorites are cruise related, and many of them are cruise reviews

you haven't finished reading yet! (Including for ships you don't plan to go on soon, but

hope to someday.)

Your favorite keyword on Ebay is "Carnival cruise."

All the documents on your smartphone are for your next cruise- MDR menu, specialty

rest. menus, drink prices, cheers policy, port maps, sample fun times, and on and on!

You want to try "extreme couponing" to save more money for cruises.

You know all the layouts for the cabins; and know what a 6C, 4J, 8N, JS and OS are.

This is comforting to know I'm not the only one that these apply to!:o
