Starboard balcony worth it?

Leaving on a Southbound Alaska cruise in 3 weeks. Whittier to Vancouver. If the only balconies available are on starboard is it worth the extra cost? We've read we should be on the port side for best view but just wondering - will we see anything on starboard side? If not we'll just save the money for our excursions but if there are good views from this side also we'd love a balcony. Any experience?

There is scenic viewing on BOTH sides. The issue with a port side priority would be- IF you are going to Glacier Bay and ONLY want viewing from a balcony and you NOT willing to leave the cabin.

Otherwise, it matters little what side, but I also would suggest a higher cost cabin, may not be a good choice, if it eliminates funds for tours of interest.

Thanks for the input. It was only $180 to upgrade to a midship balcony from our inside so it was a no brainer for us. We intend to use the balcony when we want and walk around for best viewing as desired. Can't wait!
