Live and Almost Live from Carnival Sunshine, May 17-26, 2013

Recommended Posts

i think it's no coincidence that Carnival is giving the ship 6 months in Europe before bringing it to the States. They can hide problems and perhaps bad press a bit. I have no doubt the Sunshine will be ready for a grand review come the November 18 sailing.

DDD thought he saw him the other day but it wasn't him. But yes, he's definitely on board :)

So you think you've stumbled upon a conspiracy here.......

What Carnival ship can you name that was built in Europe that DIDN'T have a 6 month European season before coming to the US market????????????????

That bacon looks very crisp as it should. We hardly ever get that crisp bacon on other Carnival ships. We always ask for crisp bacon and still it is limp and dripping with grease.

Thats interesting. I am not a fan of the bacon because I think it's always too crisp!

Then you will love most of the bacon that you'll get on any Carnival ship.....very underdone IMO.

Hi My American Cousin.... What a nonsense , as a person from Scotland who loves everything from the USA (well almost) the one thing that does my head in is how Insular you guy's are. Open your minds, to more things going on around the world apart from your own country, and that includes Cruise Ships. The Sunshine has been refurbished, and I'm going on it in August and can't wait, but The Med does exist as does the ship, and things can go wrong both in Europe and The Caribbean. The don't save the good for over there and test problems on us . S..t happens everywhere!!!!!

Other than that can't wait for my Med cruise on Carnival for the 11th time, and spending time with my American buddies.

Ps An example of what I'm talking about.... My first cruise on The Paradise in 1999 a big Yank sits down next to me and ask me where I'm from? Scotland say's I with loads of pride. He tells me he's been, and that he loved Perth. Great say's I where else did you go? He replies Sydney Melbourne Etc.. Get my point?

Are you me? You sound like me :D

When I was a much younger man travelling on a train going through Minneapolis the bloke sitting next to me asked where I was from. When I said Scotland he said he'd never heard of it and he'd travelled all over the world. I asked, where have you gone? He said (and I kid you not) Texas and LA.

I do love visiting the States tho.

^^^^ Where's the LIKE button:confused::D

Gotta love those Yank stories:) But it works both ways. Every shopkeeper in Athens will ask you where you're from. If you reply: "Ohio" or "Massachusetts" or "Nebraska" (doesn't matter); they'll respond, " I have a cousin in New York City. Maybe you've met him/her, Helios Poulos? Owns a taverna on Ditmars Street?":D

Def. no coincidence and def not the reason. Check past new ships, all sail a season before coming over. Wish they did more European sailings (or some if referring to 2014)

So here's how it goes. We so appreciate those members of our cruise community who take the time (and spend the money!) during their vacations to update all of us back home with photos, reports, and answers to member questions from the ships. "Live from" threads are really special. REALLY special.

If members who are on this sailing would like to start their own "live from" thread to report their experiences, I know our members would welcome the chance to read even more points of view about the Sunshine live from the ship!

Please stop posting off-topic in this thread; don't make it difficult for your fellow members to enjoy a "Live from...." thread.

Even MY post is off-topic, so don't address the contents in this thread -- email me: community@cruisecritic.com

I am sooo selfish:o I so very badly want a picture of the ship's exterior.

We are going to be starboard deck 7 towards the aft & I love having a wallpaper picture on my computer to gaze at until I get to go on her.

Thank You for all the great info & pictures so far..Seems like way to much to see & do on 1 cruise.

Even the things like fridges..is important to some of your audience.

Thanks again
