Emerald Princess designated smoking areas

We have just booked a minisuite (Dolphin Deck) on the Emerald for a TA cruise next year. We are lucky to get it, but I have a concern regarding the current smoking policy and hope someone can give me some feedback. We are booked forward port side. Are we at risk of smoke drifting up from the Promenade deck? We are very smoke sensitive. I did an exhaustive research and could not find where the designated outdoor smoking areas are on the Emerald. We really do not want to give up this cabin as there are no other minisuites available. Thanks for any feedback…..

Can anyone elaborate on where the smoking areas are? Is it consistently one side of the ship versus the other? On RCL, it was always port ( I think) but bottom line, once I knew which side, I could always manage to avoid it.

We were on Emerald for 20 nights in January 2013.

There really are not lots of smoking areas.

There is a an outside smoking area (not very large) just above the Lido Deck (15) on the Sun Deck (16). It's toward the front on the port side beside (not at) the bar. There is no comfortable place to sit down and smoke on Promenade Deck (7). In fact, I only saw one of the "smoking station" metal things attached to the wall. You won't have a problem on Promenade Deck avoiding smoke.

The Cigar bar is Speakeasy which is on the port side beside the casino.

Smoking is allowed in the casino in limited places. Some nights (normally formal nights) it is smoke free.

Skywalkers has a small smoking area later in the evening.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks, Lulu !! Am I to understand that smoking is not permitted at the Terrace Pool? That is where I intend to spend lots of time :)

No smoking at the Terrace Pool! In fact, there's no smoking allowed at any of the pools.
