xcomet Posted June 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2013 HI kira's Mom, Too funny thats my daughter's name and spelt the same way!! anyway, yes we usually stay at the embassy suites. It is always great. Free cooked to order breakfast (get there early) , clean and close. I havent been there in al little over a year, but it is very close to POM. You can take a taxi, ( it was about 25 bucks) or book their cruise package. Because there are usually 5 of us, it is less expensive to take a cab. They also provide free (but slow) airport pick up service. It is far from south beach though! As I recall it was no more than 10 minutes from POM. It does get crowded on cruise morning , so ask for a taxi the night before to be reserved for you , if you are not taking the cruise package. Also there isnt much around that area, other than a burger king. As I recall I did get the impression, that you wouldnt want to be walking around at night alone. Usual big city thinking. It is also right across from Jai-alai if youre interested.
Rare Keith1010 Posted June 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2013 If you are arriving the night before the cruise then that is a fine location to stay at. If you are arriving late morning to very early afternoon the day before the cruise or even a day or more before that I would consider selecting something downtown. JohninDC Posted June 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2013 It is out near MIA and, as mentioned above will be a 10-15 minute/$25+ cab ride to POM. There no shopping or dining options nearby this hotel. Good luck! :)
