Alaska on the Vision & Thanks BQ

This is a great message board. Let me send a warm thanks to Budget Queen. You may not have realized, but I was reading all your posts. Your expertise and insight on all things Alaskan are just tremendous!

 

To all other posters, you all have a wealth of knowledge that has also helped.

 

We will leave on Thursday (6/23) before the crack of dawn and head to Vancouver. We'll have most of the day there and head towards the ship on Friday (6/24). We did this cruise last year on the Serenade's first Alaskan cruise. That is one awesome ship. Too bad that the crew was just exhausted from their re-positioning from Hawaii. There was confusion among the crew since they had not done Alaska before. It took them until about mid week to feel relaxed with a new menu, new wine list and new ports. That being said, we had a marvelous time and look forward to our upcoming cruise on the Vision. This is a bargain trip for us, so no window, no balcony. We plan to be up early on deck (learned that one from BQ). I'm an early morning walker, so that won't be hard to do. A couple of things we are doing differently is taking the ferry from Skagway to Haines, doing a Chilkoot tour, and in Juneau, we are planning to do our own thing.

 

Better get a bit of sleep. We have to be at the airport at 4:45 A.M. and it's about a 20 minute drive.

Well another BQ fan. Thanks. We are off in an hour to meet up with Denamo for the Vision. We are all so excited and while we didn't make an official meet and greet we are doing our own.

 

Just want to encourage others to do the same if you don't get the numbers. We have all had a lot of fun in prep on the boards. We'll post how the trip went upon return.
