scottbee Posted June 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2013 Best location for pre cruise stay? How does one get to the ship, I assume transfer required? It doesn't get much easier, you cross the street and you're there.
Karen Lynn Posted June 17, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted June 17, 2013 Walkable? How does this hotel compare to the Pan Pacific? My thanks!
scottbee Posted June 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 17, 2013 Walkable? How does this hotel compare to the Pan Pacific? This is google street view of the Fairmont waterfront, do a 180 and you're looking at a cruise ship berth. The total walk outdoors would be well under 100m https://maps.google.com/?ll=49.28754,-123.113136&spn=0.000961,0.001742&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=49.287521,-123.113188&panoid=hr78LNlG-Ov41jiMrRm3ng&cbp=12,247.83,,0,6.
Karen Lynn Posted June 17, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted June 17, 2013 Awesome! Is the Pan Pacific farther away? Thanks!
Putterdude Posted June 17, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2013 The Pan Pacific forms part of Canada Place and the ships tie up on the 3 sides of it. Both the Pan Pacific and the Fairmont Waterfront will transfer your luggage to the pier....it doesn't come much easier.

Italy52 Posted August 2, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2013 Considering the Fairmont Waterfront after the cruise. I know that I can go from collecting my luggage at Canada Place right to Pan Pacific by underground access. Is underground access available from Canada Place to the Fairmont? You can use the same elevator that takes you up to the Pan Pacific to get to the street level to make the 30 second walk to the Fairmont. I know that there is an "undergrond" way to the Fairmont but I've never used it. Give the bell Stand at the Fairmont a call and they will tell you everything you need. I recommend the Fairmont hands down over the Pan.

Putterdude Posted August 4, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 4, 2013 I probably would choose the Fairmont Waterfront over the Pan Pacific however you just can't beat that scene you get at the PP of your ship tying up in the morning along side your hotel room.:)
trophy_23 Posted August 4, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 4, 2013 Check out the Fairmont Pacific Rim for an amazing nights stay also! Pricey but nice!
Karen Lynn Posted August 6, 2013 Author #13 Share Posted August 6, 2013 I stayed at the Pan Pacific for a couple of nights July 23rd...pre Alaskan cruise. Beautiful hotel. Loved it. Watched the ships arrive/depart. Perfect spot.
BCHappyGal Posted August 6, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 6, 2013 The Pan Pacific is my favorite hotel in Vancouver... so it gets my vote. However the Fairmont Waterfront is just accross the street and all Fairmont hotels are wonderful... No need for a transfer from either hotel to the cruise ship terminal as you are THERE...
