SissasMomE Posted June 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2013 Teens cannot go into the teen club once they turn 18. Do any cruise lines offer group events or meet and greets for young adults aged 18 - 20? I know NCL does not, and we would definitely switch cruise lines if we could find one that does this. Anyone? cb at sea Posted June 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2013 Nope....once you're 18, you are considered an adult. They will do whatever other adults are doing, except for drinking. I can't think of any 18-20 year old that would want to be "watched" during some organized activity. They will meet other young adults at the pool or sports deck....they will make their own fun, just like you do!
sherryf Posted June 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2013 Princess usually has a Meet & Greet and a couple of activities for the 18-20 crowd. We took my kids to Alaska for my oldest son's high school graduation gift. Only a few young adults showed up for the M&G but they got to know each other and later also met up with a couple of others their age. They hung out together all week, enjoying being "adults" for the first time, getting to go in the adult disco, adult pool, etc. They even went into Victoria together with no parents.... and made it back to the ship on time! They are all still friends on Facebook.
gerif Posted June 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2013 RCI also hosts a meet and greet for this age group but reports are that they aren't well attended. Young adults tend to hang out on the sports deck during the day and discos at night. Check your roll call for others in this age group. Honestly, though, they don't have organized activities for the 21 and over group either and there's really no difference.
NanciRDH Posted June 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2013 My oldest was sad to "age out" of RCI's teen program, she had so much fun! But still managed to enjoy herself on her first cruise as a young adult. She didn't go to their meet and greet for the college crowd, it was during main dining, which I thought was weird. She did go to the dance club, but in the end usually found us and would hang out with me and DH. She found a favorite slot game in the casino, and seemed to be lucky every night on her $20 seed money from daddy, lol. I have to laugh at you screen name, SissasMomE...my oldest is a Marissa, and her sisters have called her Sissa since they were old enough to talk. So, I'm Sissa's mommy too. :)
