CruiseLvr1215 Posted June 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2013 So excited- I got an email from the upgrade fairy!! We got offered an oceanview on Deck 2 for $60 more. We currently have an interior (4H) on the Lido deck. I'm a little torn on whether or not to take it. The price is good but our current location (Lido) is pretty awesome. I've never had anything but interior. Is oceanview worth it? Pros-cons?
Angelboys3 Posted June 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I would stick with the interior on Lido vs moving to an OV Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Forums mobile app
PAPERBKWRITER Posted June 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I'd take the upgrade if it's $60 total and not pp. Lido is only as far away as the elevator. BUT it may be a good idea to see where the new cabin would be (forward, mid or aft) check out the location. Personally I like OV better than balcony since you won't have to deal with balcony problems. (neighbors)
CruiseLvr1215 Posted June 25, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Yep, it is $60 more total. We'd be moving from a 4H to a 6C. It is midship, as was our interior.

ready2cruzagain Posted June 25, 2013 #6 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I would keep the interior room on the Lido deck for sure! Love the Lido deck rooms! But that is MHO.
lovebelle Posted June 25, 2013 #7 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Hate to disappoint you, but that wasn't the upgrade fairy. That was the upsell fairy. Big difference. I think people are aware of the difference by now since this distinction is made every time a person uses the term upgrade, which is perfectly acceptable. Sorry to be petty here, but this just really bugs me. Anyway, for $60 I think the OV is totally worth it. I love how natural light makes the cabins feel so much more spacious. But if being on lido is important, then that is something to consider.
CruisingwithAutism Posted June 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I would stay on Lido, it's only a few steps to the actual ocean view (and breeze and salt smell) versus elevator or stairs the entire cruise. I prefer an interior because it's the one place I don't ever need an eye mask to sleep. Nice and DARK!

gck1249 Posted June 25, 2013 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Lido Deck for sure, so nice not to have to deal with elevators in morning to go to breakfast and/or pool area. If I can't do a Balcony I always try to do the Inside Cabins on the highest deck possible. It is really up to you to decide if you want that light coming into cabin vs being able to walk out on your deck and have it.
Chief yak Posted June 25, 2013 #11 Share Posted June 25, 2013 If 7 or 8 days might upgrade but for shorter cruise absolutely not
lollylew Posted June 25, 2013 #12 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I think for $60 upgrading to an Ocean View would be a nice experience. I will be honest and say that I have never really had a true interior cabin (usually portholes and oceanviews) but I know that it has always been nice to be able to stare out the window and watch the water go by underneath me :D
Breezie68 Posted June 25, 2013 #13 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Keep the room on the Lido!
nwcruiselover Posted June 25, 2013 #14 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I would definitely take the upsell to the OV cabin. The natural light and the ability to look out at the ocean right from your cabin trumps being on the lido deck IMHO.
firefly333 Posted June 25, 2013 #15 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Without knowing which ship this is on.. some of the newer ships the OV is bigger, might sway you. Id rather stay on Lido myself though.
Sh1035 Posted June 25, 2013 #16 Share Posted June 25, 2013 Agree lido is always my deck if possible. Also, you have the secret deck up front and ice cream out back. Ask them if any upgrades available on the lido deck?
