Gold to Platinum... can someone please confirm?

Hello All...

Hoping someone here had the same circumstances to confirm what Carnival told me today.

This will be the 10th cruise for my boys at the end of this month. They are listed on the Booking.. on the Carnival Website as GOLD, not Platinum. The rep from Carnival told me that they will not be considered Platinum until day one of our upcoming cruise. And, although they are listed as GOLD, they will indeed get Platinum Cards and the benefits associated with being a Platinum cruiser.

Can someone vouch for this?

The kids are psyched to finally get their silver cards... I want to make sure it is right before we board!

Thanks,

Catrin

There is a chance that they will get gold cards when you board, however simply go to guest services, explain the situation and they will gladly reprint the new cards. Most likely everything will be fine but be prepared in case it doesn't work perfectly.

Yes, what the Carnival rep told you is true. If you look at their boarding passes and luggage tags, they should already show "Priority." They will receive Platinum S & S cards when they check in. The Carnival website isn't based on cruises that are booked but not yet taken. They will officially be Platinum when they check in for their 10th cruise.

Have you done your checking in online? I just completed mine yesterday and when I looked at my cruise documents, they say priority and Platinum. And this will be our 10th cruise.

Yes if you look at your cruise documents, they will show them as Platinum. We are in the same situation but moving up to Gold on day 4 of our next cruise and our cruise documents show us as Gold.

Same when we took our tenth in May - our docs said we were Platinum and were "stamped" PRIORITY - before we ever got to the terminal. I'd call another Carnival rep and double check. Also check their VIFP histories and make sure all of their previous cruises are listed.

Thanks!!

My husband and I are already Platinum, as we dared to take four cruises without our kids!! (ok, so one of them, they weren't born yet!).

I will take a look at their tags. Ours have said Priority for a few years now, so never thought to look at theirs.

Thank you!

Catrin

Yes, they will be Platinum and receive their Platinum card. My daughter went on her tenth cruise last year, and got her Platinum card when we boarded. I will be on my 25th cruise this year, and will receive my WHITE Milestone card, and then on my 26th and thereafter, I will be getting the Platinum card...again. Until I reach Diamond status.. which will unfortuneatly be after I am dead...

For you new Platinum members be sure to check your boarding pass to see if it has priority printed on it. If so, there is a special line at check in that will have you on the ship in 15 to 30 minutes and your cabin should be ready. You also have priority tendering. When you have a tender port you simply go to the Purser 's desk and they will have someone escort you to the tender.
