Cape Town Cruise Terminal Rental Cars

Hello fellow cruisers,

We will be ending our cruise on the Nautica (Oceania) at Cape Town. We'd like to rent a car at the cruise terminal. I seem to be having a very difficult time finding any information about the rental car agencies located at the cruise terminal.

Does anyone know what's in the general area for rent cars?

All the major car rental companies are at CT international airport (Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Tempest/Sixt etc).

I know there is an Avis in the downtown Capetown are - I think within walking distance. Suggest you look it up on google maps.

Suggest you contact carhire company and they should be able to meet you quayside.

If you are docking at the V&A waterfront, you will not find a real terminal. Instead, there is a large tent. No services in it.

Thanks for your feedback. While there appears to be no rental car agencies at the terminal, I did find an Avis and Hertz in the general vicinity.

Be really careful driving a car on your own.

 

Be sure you insure it for theft.

Barbara, my concern would be safety issues for both me and the vehicle. I have friends who live there and they do use a lot of caution.
