Do you carry a bag around on board day-to-day?

I'm travelling on Carnival Spirit next week with my husband and kids 6, 4 and 1.

I'm wondering if I will need a bag to carry about on board. And if so, what size? Would I just be carrying nappies and wipes and a bottle of water or would I be heading back to my room for nappy changes?

The ship isn't so big that you need to carry a bag around the ship. Just take what you need for the moment and if the baby needs changing, simply go back to the cabin and change him. Water as good as a bottle is available on the ship for free. There is no need to carry anything except your cruise card.

I disagree....I do carry a small (very small) bag....so I'll have my comb, tissues, lipstick, etc....

It CAN be a hike back to the cabin...and it's not always convenient to do so!

Think of it this way....you would carry a purse/bag in a hotel...right? Why wouldn't you do so on the ship? You won't need wallet and checkbook, etc....but your little personal items....you'll be glad you have them with you.

Um, this is a family board and the OP wanted to know what to carry for the BABY not herself. I agree with the first poster. You will be heading back to the cabin for diaper changes anyway so no need to carry all that extra stuff around. I have a small neck wallet that will hold a few tissues, my room card and some little packets of wipes if needed. I don't carry a comb and rarely wear lipstick.

I carried a lightweight tote bag around throughout the cruise. During the day it had sunblock, wipes (sometimes napkins aren't enough when it comes to food messes) DD's sippy cup, Chapstick, the phone the nursery gave us (it was ours to use for the entire cruise) and my coke card cup. In the evenings I took out the sunblock & coke cup and added things to occupy DD at dinner. I used the same bag in ports which I could put our purchases in.

I did not carry a bag, I used the basket underneath my stroller though for dippy cup, sunglasses & sunblock. At night I would throw a sweater for both kids under there. I came back to the room if we needed to change a diaper.

On the last cruise, I did not carry a bag, I just put the things I needed under the stroller. But this cruise I am taking a small umbrella stroller I plan on taking just a small bag to have wipes, sunscreen, cup, snacks, etc in. But if a diaper change is needed then I will go back to the room. I just like to have a few things with us at all times but it is more of a personal preference because it is necessary.

Even without a baby, I think I carried a bag. If I was up by the pool, I always had a bag with "our stuff". With a 1 yr old, I'd just toss in a changing pad, diapers, wipes, and a sippy cup.

I carried a small bag with passy, sippy/bottle and snacks and toys to keep him occupied at dinner time. Sunscreen too. I only found 1 restroom on the carnival dream that had a changing table--the one near the casino.

Our kids are older (10 & 5) but I still carry a bag - not a huge one, probably medium.

Wipes are always handy no matter the age, plus I always end up carrying goggles or minding stateroom cards

As for nappy changes - I have never looked at the rest rooms with that in mind, but I'm sure you will find what works for you.

Hope you all have a great cruise :)

When my son was one, I carried a small diaper bag around the ship. It could hold a sippy cup, a couple diapers, a travel size wipe container and maybe a little pack of food or a snack. It's probably the size of a medium purse and it was perfect. Unfortunately it was very well loved and had to be retired. I'm going to find something similar for the next time around.
