April Jewel Posted August 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2013 Hi we set sail on Monday and cannot remember whether Celebrity have their TV's blacked out so you can't play ipods through them? We know this has happened on a previous cruise line but can't remember which one We love to listen to music in our cabin but don't have any speakers. Thanks
Tiggertastic Posted August 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2013 we bought a small speaker that plugs in for less than $20 and its been worth every penny and the sound is great. This way we were certain we could use the ipod. the tvs also have 8-10 music channels
excitedofharpenden Posted August 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2013 The TVs are set to hotel mode and inputs/outputs disabled. As Tiggertastic says your best bet is to buy some travel speakers. I bought a small docking station a few years ago and wouldn't be without it. If you are staying in a suite they now have docking stations (and I thought they were very good). April Jewel Posted August 16, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted August 16, 2013 Thanks for the responses - looks like we might have to invest in some speakers/docking station at the airport then.
Rare hcat Posted August 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2013 we got a great travel docking station at Radio Shack . They were a good price, are lightweight, easy to set up & have failrly decent sound!
kitty9 Posted August 16, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2013 There's a company called iHome that make really great, portable speakers for iPads and iPods. They're very small, packable and have pretty good sound. Some are run by battery and some you have to plug into an outlet.
CruisingGatorGirl Posted August 16, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2013 We also have a very small travel speaker for iPod/iPhone. I bring it everywhere! Mine actually kinda folds so it takes up very little space, less than my hair electronics
