Hotel Shuttles in Miami to/from Port

We're new to this. We will drive to Miami and probably stay in one of those "free parking" deal hotels near the airport. My question is, if we plan to use the hotel shuttle to get back to the hotel when we return from the cruise, how well does that work out, particularly in what I suppose are fairly chaotic conditions in the port on Saturday morning? Do they show up when you ask? Do you end up waiting a long time for the shuttle and/or for other passengers? Is it a better idea to just take a taxi back to the hotel, and what is the cost (back to the airport area) and are taxi's fairly easy to get at that hour? Thanks for any/all help.

I have frankly not heard of hotels that pick you up from PoM.... They might shuttle you TO the port, but you may need to take a cab to your hotel after your cruise.

After further looking, I see you're right. So the return must be by taxi. So is there any problem finding a taxi on Saturday when many others are doing the same thing?

Taxis are very easy to get at the Port Of Miami. They queue up and as some taxis pull up and pick up passengers and leave the next set drive up. It will just take a few minutes.

Expect the cab fare from POM to most MIA area hotels to run between $25-30. Good luck! :)
