UniPac Posted September 4, 2013 #62 Share Posted September 4, 2013 Thanks for the nice pictures, even for the tiny ones ;) Do you think X will send S Class ships through pancanal once the new canal is completed?
gimletgal Posted September 5, 2013 #63 Share Posted September 5, 2013 Thanks for the nice pictures, even for the tiny ones ;) Do you think X will send S Class ships through pancanal once the new canal is completed? I'm sure they will! This will also give them the opportunity to switch itineraries to different ships, which should bring a welcome change! I think the new shipping lanes are now set to open around June, 2015. It will be interesting to see what Celebrity comes up with when the new itineraries come out in April, 2014. Rare ghstudio Posted September 6, 2013 #66 Share Posted September 6, 2013 Has anyone seen anything about a charitable offer or any other offer for the return sailing. I guess Celebrity is going to return the millennium to the west coast with no passengers after the new pod is installed.

CruisinMaterial Posted September 7, 2013 #69 Share Posted September 7, 2013 She is in Freeport now That she is! I've been waiting for her arrival. Hope to get glimpses of her from friends on other ships which pass through there. I wonder what's in store for her return trip. Sailing her empty has got to be costing a LOT of money. At least doing a charity thing they could write it off.

At least doing a charity thing they could write it off. They would have to board passengers in Freeport or some other non-US port unless they were to stop in a South American port and with a tight time-line they may not want to stop. Either that or disembark all passengers in a non-US port, which again, takes time. That is unless the PVSA allows exemptions for charity travel. That all said, it would be nice for the charity or charities involved if they could do t, and secondly, for Celebrity as well.

SeaQue Posted September 8, 2013 #75 Share Posted September 8, 2013 It's a picture of the damaged pod, which has been removed, and a post that says the new pod will be lifted and installed tomorrow (Monday Sept 9). Anxious to see the post that says sea trials are successful, and Millie is one her way to San Diego SOON! By Thursday, Friday latest, please, would be perfect!
