hinterlandboyz2 Posted September 11, 2013 Author #52 Share Posted September 11, 2013 Here is the link to the patters and other information from the Sun Princess S301 New Zealand cruise https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0HgQDQt7vPlTml5eFlZdU54Vk0&usp=sharing There are 3 files that seem to be having a problem uploading but all the rest are there and it will give you an idea of whats on offer. The Sea Princess is the youngest of the three Sun Class in Australia and has a slightly different feel to the Sun and Dawn. I'm sure you will have a great time, we were very luck to have beautiful weather in all ports with the exception of the storm at the end of our last port. If I can provide any other info please let me know, I am sailing on the Sea Princess in 6 weeks to Tasmania and will take some pics of the ship and cabins. We usually take a balcony stateroom when we cruise however on this occasion, since we have cruised to NZ a couple of times before in a Balcony Stateroom, we have decided this time to take an outside (portside) Ocean View Window Stateroom, on the Caribe deck (9). We don't believe that the size of the balconies on the Sea Princess really justify the price that the line is asking for them. Might a well put our $ saving into other things on board. For those of you who are interested here is the answer from Princess Cruises regarding any service gratuity charge to all beverages on board the Sea Princess: Quote, "Hello, Thank you for your email. All beverage items sold on-board our vessels are processed with an automatic addition of 15% service gratuity". unquote.

I think they have given the answer for the other Princess ships. I will make a few enquiries with people who have been on the ships recently. I will make a few enquiries with people who have been on the ships recently. I have just checked with someone who has cruised on the Australian Princess since I have. My last cruise was late last. The response was that they did not have gratuities added to the cost of drinks. :) I thought it was unlikely that Princess would have done a 'u turn' in the last year after removing gratuities two and a half years ago. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Princess Cruises Australia gave me the wrong info. From past experiences with office staff at the various cruises companies that we have used, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing! We have now set up a Roll Call for our particular cruise and are surprised that no one apart from one other passenger on our cruise has found us. GHDPeter Posted September 12, 2013 #57 Share Posted September 12, 2013 Sorry guys, I use a Mac and there are little files that were loaded as well, I've removed them now so its just the image files there and I've had a look and they seem to be all there https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0HgQDQt7vPlbFVuMXN6bUpRT3c&usp=sharing On the Princess website - Sun, Dawn and Sea out of Australia have no gratuities added, they were incorporated into the fares a few years ago. Gratuities During your cruise, regardless of which Princess ship you choose, you will meet staff who provide you with excellent service. Crew members often rotate to different vessels within the Princess fleet which helps to maintain our high standards on every ship. These dedicated workers reflect our philosophy that all crew on all ships are but one family who share in our success. For our Australian passengers, when sailing on cruises departing from Australia aboard Sun Princess, Dawn Princess or Sea Princess, a daily gratuity amount will no longer be added to your on board account. You are welcome to reward our on board crew for exceptional service, however, tipping is not required. For all other Princess itineraries and passengers, to save you the worry of who to tip and how much, an automatic gratuity of $12 per passenger for mini-suites and suites, and $11.50 per passenger in all other staterooms per day (including children) is automatically added to your shipboard account on a daily basis and may be adjusted or removed at your discretion on board. This gratuity will be shared amongst those staff who help provide and support your cruise experience, including all waitstaff, stateroom stewards, buffet stewards, and housekeeping staff across the fleet. On these worldwide itineraries, a 15% gratuity is also added to bar charges and dining room wine accounts. This is shared amongst the beverage staff and their support staff. We know you will find these services onboard exemplary. Casino dealers and Lotus Spa® personnel do not share in these gratuities, as not all passengers utilize these services. The Caribe deck outsides are a little bigger thansome others and are the same size as the Balcony cabins plus the balcony.

I am confident there won't be an added gratuity.:)
