Johhno Posted September 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2013 Just noticed on the Princess site that the Dawn,Sea and Sun Princess deck plans have a new tab for sailings after March / May 2014. (Also other ships) Does this mean they are going to recategorised staterooms again ? Anyone heard anything. Cheers Johhno.

Quite possibly, more cabin categories mean more income brackets and the chance of minor upgrades being seen as special.:D
The_Big_M Posted September 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 2, 2013 Though what it also means is it makes booking more confusing. TAs would be happy if so.
Rare MicCanberra Posted September 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2013 I read that they have recently split some of the balcony categories on another cruise line (possibly RCI) to improve revenue. What was one category was split on various decks into Mid, Aft and Forward and then price accordingly. An upgrade now is considered from Aft to midships.:D
Pushka Posted September 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2013 . An upgrade now is considered from Aft to midships.:D My TA got all excited I was given an upgrade. From only just Fwd to mid ships. I think just a couple of cabins away. I didn't get excited.

Yes, but I think one of the lines either did it or will be doing it further still, creating even more categories.:D
Kiwi Kruzer Posted September 2, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 2, 2013 I think it is all wrong. The categories as they are now are crazy. Instead of Mid Aft or Forward they should all be listed and prices set by ... distance to the food.:D

Well worth paying a little extra to stay slim, I guess this is what you had in mind. :)

Rare MicCanberra Posted September 3, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 3, 2013 The food tends to be at the rear of the ship (various decks) so this is why I like the forward cabins, forced exercise. As Big M says, win-win.:D
permgrande44 Posted March 7, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 7, 2014 I was just checking the differences since I cruise on May 15th on Caribbean Princess, just before the changes. Only thing I noticed was they added 3 interior cabins on Deck 10 and had to do some room number changes there to accommodate.
