love the objectiveness of your review. we are going on the breeze in January and so much of what i have read has been "it was soooooo crowded"/"there were no lines at all!" or "everyone was RUDE"/"people were wonderful"

Then I realize they were talking about the same cruise on the same week

btw, we are also nw cincy people....apparently this geographic area likes the breeze!

Just curious. Were you three in a cabin or more?

Why I ask......We are sailing on the Breeze this Coming Sunday..one week. If we like it, and we have not yet been on a cruise ship we don't like....I am very seriously thinking about putting down a deposit onboard...for a six day sailing in March.

I want to take my DD, SIL and granddaughter ( now potty trained WOO HOO and we oldsters forget what a big moment that is!!!) I am thinking one Ocean view Cabin for them. I don't want Grand daughter near a balcony ( she has a gift for climbing. And jumping...her grand dad went to college because he could kick a football extremely well. And she inherited some of his genes...)

Were you cramped? I don't see a lot of discounts for third guest. She is 3 yrs old..or will be...and no discount different from an adult that I can see. Did you had more.... of a discount if you were even in a cabin with more than one person.

We will book a cabin as close to theirs as we can. Two cabins is new to us and pricey. Also....I have thought I would wait until November....opposed to booking on the ship....for the Military sales Carnival usually does then.

I think you get OBC if you book on ship?

Advice? Loved you review. Very honest. Glad that you liked the Production Shows. i see them all. Like them all except for one..years ago..on Princess. Nice nap though. Pictures were Great. Is the ATD the one in the middle?

Thanks. Play any Trivia?

DH is a Football Quietly dedicated fanatic. The Games will be on in the casino Bar? And Georgia has a rest day..so no worrying about that one. DH...Georgia Alumni.

Me.......Roll Tide. Forever.

Thank you all for the kind words. I enjoy posting.

Onto answers....we had two cabins, 2 to a cabin. So, can't answer your questions about 3 to a cabin. If I had to judge, I'd say with perhaps a pulldown from the ceiling in addition to the King bed, you would be OK in a balcony cabin.

There's certainly plenty of closet space.

I can see 3 on the balcony, but no more than that. And, the 3rd person is going to have to stand on the balcony as there are only 2 chairs.

Regarding the entertainment, Carnival has taken a different route than either NCL or RCCL have taken.

Those guys go for the big productions with elaborate sets and lots of "actors/players".

Carnival does smaller productions, although as mentioned, they are very creative with their sets and use the same actors for everything.

For example, I doubt the "Blue Men" with BMG on the Epic do any other shows other than their Blue Man Show.

But, the Divas and Motown shows on Breeze were shorter, so doing double duty probably isn't an issue for the actors.

Liked all of the shows and the actors. IF there was one nit (and it is JUST A NIT), one of the guys who tried to sing falsetto on the Motown show really couldn't hit the "high notes". And, there was one female who sounded like she may have had a cold because she sang very "nasally". But, nothing you can really do about that.

And, they were all quite talented.

Even the guitar player who was out poolside every day was really good, as was the DJ in the Atrium every night. Piano Bar performer was funnier than the commedienne in Punchliners. That's a fun place to be late at night (warning, the later he goes, the more his show turns into an "R" rating, so it's not for kids).

Entertainment was everywhere.

For Posting!! Our Carnival PVP called us just yesterday about another cruise. We're trying something different this year with Oasis, (6 previous Carnival cruises), but we are thinking that we'll try the Breeze sometime soon. It looks really beautiful!

Great review, looking forward to more:)

Thanks all. I appreciate all of your kind comments. The Breeze is a beautiful ship.

Some other activities on the ship that are fun.....

This is an entire entertainment area with outdoor pool tables, ropes, mini golf, cornhole, etc....

Of course, the always fun (and sometimes costly) Casino...I ended up "only" losing $150 for the week. I considered that a win since I played several hours every night the casino was open....

My favorite dealer, craps and roulette assistant...

Great review!!!!

I was on this same sailing and there were a few things I noticed (I've also been on the Allure)

* No, the entertainment (shows) are not as good as Allure, but going into this cruise, I knew that. I was sailing for the ship/itinerary. We did the behind the scenes tour (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!) and the dancer that gave us the tour of the stage area said that there are 8 of them and they do it all.....sing/dance/move scenery around on stage between takes/etc. It did give me a little more appreciation for their hard work. The giant LED screens were neat, but you cannot expect elaborate sets going into this.

* Lines. Yep, they were there in spurts, but not bad at all for that many people in one spot. Omelet station, comedy show (the WORST one of all), pizza parlor come to mind. Again, not horrible, but at times there were lines. As far as getting off the boat in port, this is where I loved the Allure. Two different doors to enter & exit. Aft & Forward, depending on the cabin. Breeze would of been great with this!

* Broken glass on the sliding doors...still there.

* Kids. Another passenger told me that there were 1200+ kids on this sailing (listening to the morning show on TV). I honestly didn't notice them until later in the sailing when they seemed to be everywhere running all over. I'm guessing they were getting bored with the teen/kids clubs. MANY more of them were running around alone/in packs rather than with parents. Nothing horrible at all...like I didn't experience elevator button pushing or what not, but I did notice a whole lot more of them as the sailing went on.

* Chair hogging. Yep. Happened. Early morning jog and I noticed stuff on chairs already. A stroll through the Serenity showed some people parked out in the clamshells already. I was able to snag one only once on a port day.

* Sewage smell. Only noticed it in spurts, mostly on one side of the jogging track or as you were on the lido deck near the iguanna cantina. Hubby and I made the "who farted face" to each other a few times :p

* Guys Burgers. OMG. I had to have one every day. I wish I had one right now. They are fantastic! Two sides to the place and the line moves quick.

Overall, it was a good cruise. I loved the itinerary...Grand Turk is beautiful. I would go on the 8 day one if the price was right again! I would get the Cove Balcony again. We loved it!

Thanks so much for such an insightful review with tons of GREAT pics.....We're on the Breeze on May 4, 2014 to KW, Grand Cayman and Cozumel and after reading through all your info, I'm even chomping at the bit even more so than before. I really can't wait til the date arrives; this will be our first vacation together and first cruise. We picked the Breeze for all its glory.

Just returned from the 6 night Breeze sailing out of Miami. Ports were Key West, Grand Turk, and NASSAU.

I will have pics coming, but need to sort them so I can post. Unfortunately, it seems one of my memory cards was damaged, but I'm trying to recover the pics. That said, iPhone and pics from a 2nd camera are available.

Just to mention up front, I've come to the conclusion that there is no correlation between the price of a cruise and how good the cruise will be. After 10+ cruises (including some that aren't listed in my sig), on all the major cruise lines, usually on the biggest, best ships available from each line, the amount you spend does not have any relationship to how good the ship is or how good the cruise will be.

This cruise was the least expensive of all the ones I've ever been on. It was also one of the very best. As someone said to me as we were disembarking the ship...."this wasn't a good cruise...this was a GREAT cruise." Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'll pick some nits....but it's exactly that...nit picking!

Let me get some of the common questions out of the way.

The Breeze is a BIG ship. This seems to be the new wave for all the cruise lines.....BIGGER is better. You either like that, or you don't. Personally, I feel the newer, bigger ships are all the cruise lines attempt to put their best foot forward, with the most innovative entertainment and dining, as well as putting their best personnel on display.

I never felt crowded. The lines were never long. Matter of fact, from check in, to embarkation, to dining (we had "any time dining"), to seeing shows, to Guest Services, etc, we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes.

It was easy and quick to embark, and disembark. Never waited with any time dining. That was good given we always seemed to show up between the 6:30 to 8:00, prime time dining hours.

The longest we waited was at the Blue Iguana, and that was only while they made our food.

From the time we set foot in Miami cruise terminal, to the first time we set foot on the ship, to every crew member in between, we were always greeted, and greeted with a smile.

There were more people cleaning the ship than I've seen on any ship.

Food ranged from good...to really good.

Arnold Donald, Carnival's new CEO was also on the ship before it sailed. I literally bmped into him on the Lido deck before sailing. As I was getting ready to say "excuse me", I looked up and it was a familiar face. It took a moment, but he finally registered with me.

We didn't talk more than about 5 minutes, but it was a very good conversation. Paraphrasing, I had my sign and sail card in my hand at the time (gold). Noticing this, he sincerely thanked me for being a loyal Carnival customer (what he didn't know is that I sail more than just Carnival). He asked me how I liked the ship. As I told him, "so far, so good". He said it had been a tough 12 months for the company and that all the passengers that stood by the cruise line were of particular improtance to Carnival. He also said it was an opportunity to make the cruise experience better..that the goal was to offer the best cruise experience possible while also offering the best value. Lofty goals, but ones that I think they're well on their way to achieving.

So, gotta get busy sorting pics.

Stick around if you'd like!

I agree so far 100% with everything you said....i just did a mini review as i cruised 8/31 and had nothing but good to great experiences. Just hated the mattresses.
