Where is Getaway?

Why is there no news on Getaway ? Only about 150 days left not much from NCL or pics from the shipyard. Blog is way behind in news than what the breakaway was:confused:

Norwegian just posted a video a couple of days ago of the Chief Engineer testing out one of the water slides. Very funny.

Even though we were 'told' not to ask any more questions, I am going to anyway.

Is FB the only place where NCL is putting the Getaway information? What about the 60% of the population that are not on FB? Seems like a limited audience. ;) (I really do not expect an answer from anyone on CC).

Thanks,

Caron

There's always http://www.buildinggetaway.ncl.com/

Pic a couple of days ago with her captain.

I guess there isn't anything else left to announce as she is a breakaway clone

There is still a lot they have NOT announce yet with The Getaway, especially staff.

Really?

All the senior officers/hotel director announced so its only really the CD and a few others you never see/know like food and bev managers etc..

http://www.ncl.co.uk/news/article/getaway-senior-officers/

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that two seasoned captains, Rune Myre and Tommy Stensrud, will take the helm of Norwegian Getaway, the largest ship to homeport in Miami year-round launching in February. In addition, Norwegian announced the additional senior officers that will deliver the line’s newest ship: Staff Captain Niklas Persson, Chief Engineer Carsten Fosbo, Chief Engineer Oeystein Undrum and Hotel Director Sean Wurmhoeringer.

Fair enough, I don't recall them ever announcing that low level for Breakaway/Epic etc.. Normally it's those on the inaugural sailings who report back concierge etc...

But to answer the OPs question, other than the ones you mentioned I think everything else, itinerary, public lounges, entertainment have all been announced so dont expect any more announcements soon..

There is still a lot about The Maiden Cruise they have not said yet except the change in date (one day earlier) and change in destination ( New York City rather than Miami). Since I am coming as a solo passenger from the West Coast of the United States to Southampton, I would like a little more information.

What other information do you expect. They have provided sailing dates and itinerary that's all the ever provide for any of NCL's maiden transatlsntics. What I don't want to hear is they are changing it again.

Why does the name of the assistant bar manager matter?

Can't say I have ever made a vacation decision based on who the Executive housekeeper was/is.

My adopted son is an Assistant Bar Manager currently serving on a Norwegian ship.

I have had the honor and privilege to dine with several Executive Housekeepers. If you have ever had a problem with Housekeeping, they are nice to know.

Thank you VERY much for any information anyone can post on this thread about the Getaway. Although we sailed on the Breakaway in July, we booked the Haven Getaway for next August and yes, it is the "same" ship, but I want to see everything I can about it being built (like I did for the Breakaway).

Thank you all very much. I apprecaite it!

One thing that will be different the Haven Courtyard on the Getaway will not have a roof. Enjoy the afternoon FL and island summer thunderstorms. Cushions out cushions in everyday.

Thank you but why would you tell me to enjoy the thunderstorms in the Haven?

Whether I knew or not about the roof just seems snarky. Oh well.

I'll enjoy the Haven no matter what and thank you for the information you provided :)

I was intended to be snarky but not at you but toward NCL cutting a few 100,000 from the cost. My view that roof Is needed as much in Miami in summer as NYC in winter.

Thanks.

Yes, I, too, agree that in Florida the Haven should also have its own retractable roof!

The only reason that I have thought of is that instead of having the Haven passengers still be able to enjoy the Haven while raining, it will force them to go inside the ship and spend money, casino? Not sure but I certainly was very disappointed when I read there would not be a roof.
