Erik101 Posted September 19, 2013 #26 Share Posted September 19, 2013 Read "War and Peace". I never make it past the second chapter. Please don't tell me how it ends, because I really don't care.:D This! Or better yet, pick up a book on tax laws. It's guaranteed to put you to sleep! 2bthereagain Posted September 19, 2013 #27 Share Posted September 19, 2013 First of all, I wish it were me having this problem.... In addition to everything already said, I would take ONE (not two) Tylenol PM and lie in bed blowing the ship horn on my cruise app until I finally just drift off with my finger still on the horn trigger :D

Husky61 Posted September 20, 2013 #29 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I am so excited and it's a little over a week to go. What do you do to help yourself sleep when you are super excited? I drink plenty of booze. I go to sleep immediately.
dulcimergirl Posted September 20, 2013 #30 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Ok, my best how-to-go-to-sleep hint. I put a book in the CD player, and headphones on my head. Now, the proper way is a book you've already read a dozen times. I'm currently listening to the Twilight series, again. (for the umpteenth time) Puts me right to sleep. The trick is to keep the mind occupied while the body relaxes into sleep. I've also listened to Harry Potter books a trillion times.. lol (this hint is also helpful when you need to drown out your husbands snoring, or noisy neighbors in the next cabin) I've been doing it for at least 20 years. I now use my Ipad and Audable. (sp?) Absolutely heavenly. I find Sony's headphones comfortable, and I've tried them all. Either way, its the night before my cruise and I'm just as excited as you!!!:D

momof3terriers Posted September 21, 2013 Author #33 Share Posted September 21, 2013 I want to see the zoo. I am leaving on the grandeur of the seas. Would be more than happy to take pictures of the ship, food, and Bermuda if you like and post them all when I get back on Oct. 3.

lady_cruiser Posted September 23, 2013 #36 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I can't fall asleep the night before a cruise. Too excited. So after a restless night and a busy day of boarding the ship, unpacking, meeting up with new friends and then rushing to dinner I usually pass out around 9 and land up missing the first welcome aboard show. momof3terriers Posted September 24, 2013 Author #37 Share Posted September 24, 2013 Oh I know I am going to be tired the night off the first night of the cruise. After not being able to sleep, and a busy day I have a reservation for a massage at 8:30 that night. I am going to sleep like a baby that night. StevenStephen Posted September 24, 2013 #38 Share Posted September 24, 2013 OMG!!! I'm not cruising until the end of November...this will be my first cruise and I just can't freaking wait! My last thought as I get in bed each night is always this darn cruise...and I've struggled getting to sleep; and it's not even October yet. So, I just cuddle up in the sheets and plan my wardrobe or go over a packing list in my head. It works better than counting sheep. Maybe as the date get's closer I'll switch to thinking about my Christmas lists!
momof3terriers Posted September 24, 2013 Author #39 Share Posted September 24, 2013 Really hard now since the fish on my countdown's nose is hitting the beach umbrella. I don't think I have ever been this excited. this is also our first cruise. So I am going over and over in my head what I need.
