Can I change a booked cabin for 4 to 2 cabins for 2?

I have booked a cabin for 4 for my in-laws and now they want to switch it to 2 cabins (balconies) for two. It's paid in full and we sail next May. Has anyone done this? I would think it's ok because Carnival will be making more money on this. We booked it during the 2014 preview sale.

Best way to find out is to just call. I have always found that they are very easy to work with. Since you are so far out, you should be able to switch. Good luck and let us know how you make out!

When I booked last week, she said you can always upgrade. I would think it would be okay.

Thanks guys. My PVP doesn't work weekends and pretty much ignores me when I call. I'll call and see if I can get one that cares a little more. My old one retired and boy do I miss him :(

Just call the 800 number. You don't have to work only with your pvp.

I just did this a few weeks prior to my cruise on the dream. I was told it can be done and you can even downgrade (1 balcony to 2 OV) as long as the new total is more than the previous reservation.

Yes you can do anything, as long as they have the rooms available. You will just pay the difference. I was just able to upgrade to an higher deck and this was after final payment date.

You absolutely can, you are well within in your final payment date so there should be no penalty unless you booked under an early saver then it might get a little more complicated. However, it has been my experience that they do not charge you any fee if you are upgrading and spending more money.
