HideoutII Posted October 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Hi all, I will be going on the Royal Princess in November. Does anyone know what time you can usually board the ship when leaving out of Port Everglades? When I have traveled RCCL, I have been able to board as early as 11:30, sometimes 11:00. Thanks. -Lew- Posted October 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2013 You'll generally be safe with that timeframe. If there is an issue with disembarkation, your embarkation may be delayed. We usually arrive at the port 12:00-12:30 and have had no problem. Enjoy your cruise... Lew
HideoutII Posted October 29, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks. We live locally and will be driving to the Port. I can't wait to explore this new ship. What time is the earliest that you can usually board?
NewPennCruiser Posted October 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks. We live locally and will be driving to the Port. I can't wait to explore this new ship. What time is the earliest that you can usually board? Platinum and Elite passengers will usually start boarding around 11:30. All other passengers as they enter the terminal will get a number and then groups are called by number once the Elite passengers are cleared out. Once the backlog of folks sitting around is cleared out, folks arriving later will be able to pretty much just check in and walk on the ship. As others have mentioned though, a late disembarkation may delay embarkation that day and sometimes if added inspections are occurring, that could delay embarkation as well. Have a great cruise. Are suite passengers included with the Platinum and Elite, or after?

Pam in CA Posted October 29, 2013 #7 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Are suite passengers included with the Platinum and Elite, or after?Full suite passengers board with Platinum and Elite, not mini-suite passengers. Just to clarify. Unlike Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Carnival, etc., when you board a Princess ship, you can go directly to your cabin and start your cruise. You will not be directed to the Lido to sit and wait until some time in the afternoon so if you board at Noon, that's when your cruise really begins. IECalCruiser Posted October 29, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 29, 2013 In January in Port Everglades, Elite and Suite passengers boarding started right at noon. There is a separate waiting area upstairs in Terminal 2 for Suite and Elite passengers and they boarded first. Next to that room is an open area for Platinum passengers and they boarded next. We are always checked in and ready to board by 11:30, but San Pedro is our home port.
macusr Posted November 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Platinum/Elite/Suite boarding was quoted as 11:30 - we were able to start boarding at 11:45.
