Paige6187 Posted October 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2013 I just received a voicemail from a rep with RCI that was calling me to welcome me back from my cruise a couple weeks ago and to help plan a future cruise. She stated in the voicemail that I had been selected for a special offer, but didn't say anything about what the offer would be. Has anybody ever received this call and know what the offer would be? I called back and left the woman a voicemail, but I am sure she is busy and I may not get a call for awhile. Thanks in advance!

TC1957 Posted October 31, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Are you sure she was a rep with RCI? I have recently received two automated calls to my cell (dumbo here answered them even though I didn't recognize the numbers) and it was the "free cruise" scam offer. I also received a call right after our recent cruise and when I pressed them on wether they were with RCI they hung up. Just sayin'

Google it if you don't believe me RCCL is Royal CRibbean Cruise Ltd the parent company that owns Royal Caribbean International RCI as well as Celebrity, Azamara and a couple of others. Check out all your booking invoices. They all refer to Royal Caribean International. Paige6187 Posted October 31, 2013 Author #12 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Just got off the phone with her. The promotion is the same thing that you can get by doing an onboard booking, only they extended it 14 days after the cruise. So, for those of you that just got off a cruise and wanted to do an onboard booking but didn't get around to it, you may be able to do a booking now and get some OBC and a lower deposit rate. SunReader Posted October 31, 2013 #15 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Hi Paige, I was on the same cruise and have not received a call. I did buy a couple of next cruise certificates and used 1 this week to reserve a cruise for next fall before the Explorer leaves NJ. They had some resident rate specials for Septmber and October. Paige6187 Posted November 1, 2013 Author #18 Share Posted November 1, 2013 I wonder if the OP had booked direct or with a TA. I booked through RCCL directly and it was one of their vacation specialists that called. No idea why I got a call. I had just filled out the email survey they sent me about two hours before, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference. I wonder if they only offer it to those that do not make an onboard booking in an attempt to increase revenue? Either way, I was surprised and pleased to receive the phone call, even though I didn't take advantage if the offer. DBF and I received a good rate for a promenade on Freedom for next October that another kind poster had wrote about here, and rebooking wouldn't have come close to making it a better deal for us.
