Portofino gone. Giovanni's in its place. Yum! Yum! :D

petel Posted November 3, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2013 Which one is better? :) Sorry it took so long...... We love Giovanni's ! Lunch is way past outstanding! And we had a salad for dinner because we ate so much at lunch that day. It was so obvious how much we loved it that the manager invited us back "anytime, no cover, just you come and enjoy." wish I could write that with his satisfied smile and accent. :)
denamo Posted November 3, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) We really prefer Giovanni's to Portofino's. Their lunch is a wonderful option. We consider it our sea day excursion! Edited November 3, 2013 by denamo

TEXASMUNK Posted November 3, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 3, 2013 We loved Portfino, but once we experienced Giovanni's..it blew away Portofino. May have been the service, the changed atmosphere, the menu...but last time, we booked it for 3 nights on our Mariner cruise. And, it far, far, far outdistances Chops. The food in Chops is good, not great, but Chops come in a very distant second for the service levels...Got the same feeling on both Voyager and Mariner. 39august Posted November 3, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 3, 2013 Perhaps Giovanni's is better on other ships, but I didn't enjoy it as much on Oasis as I enjoy Portofino. So far, every ship I have been on since Oasis Sept. 2012 still had Portofino. Looking forward to NOS in Dec. when she still has Portofino. Then I'll try GT on her in late Feb. Hope I'm as impressed as the above posters!
