Cashing Out your OBC in the Casino-RCCL

If you have $$$$/credit left on your Seapass card, and it is partly from Next Cruise OBC and part from your RCCL Visa card (cashed out points).....can you remove it with the 5% charge at the casino? Thought I heard someone this past cruise say that the OBC you could get cash for and the RCCL point conversion credit had to be used up and could not be cash.

 

Any clarification would be great? If you call, might get different stories as usual....so would rather have experience in this if its around.

I have used my extra OBC by pulling money from the SetSail pass to use the casino. Then I play for a while and cash out without incurring a charge, other than what I lost playing the slots.

To my knowledge, OBC may not be used in the casino under any conditions. Any documentation I've received over the years specifically excludes it. You use it or lose it.

 

Rules and regs continually change ... who knows these days. But I'd think that converting OBC to any form of cash would still be prohibited.

There are 2 kinds of OBC....refundable and non-refundable! They will use the refundable 1st, so if there is any OBC left, it will be forfeited. It will really depend on what kind of OBC you have!

Yeah I think that is the issue.....guess my "understanding" what little there is .... OBC like next cruise or TA has given etc. is cashable since it is like a discount/gift and RCCL Visa points are "rewards" so they technically aren't cash. So if say you have $150 OBC and put $300 in RCCL points for cash on the card. And then "spend" $175....they would use the $150 OBC first...then the $25 from the pot. So then if you go to get CASH out at the Casino they say sorry.....this is not "cash"...you can use it for stuff like shore excursions, gifts, drinks but not cash. A bit confusing but would like to know. That way you know not to "SAVE" the credit in order to get cash.
