carib Posted November 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2013 A highlight from our recent Transatlantic on the Royal in October was the call at the port of Funchal. Madeira is really beautiful. Here is a link to our tour of the island.

carib Posted November 16, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted November 16, 2013 I am glad so many enjoyed the video. I had fun putting it together. Madeira is truly impressive. To answer the question quite a few asked, our tour was a private one arranged through 'Madeira Seekers.' They are one of many such operators in Madeira. We were pleased with them. There is no better bargain in shore excursions than in Madeira. You get a lot for very little.

rdsqrl Posted November 17, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Awesome! I am going there in 2 months. So excited!:) Ha, I win! I'm going there in one month! Actually, in 28 days -- 28 days!! Ye gods, I better figure out what I'm going to be doing once I get there. If I had done my dissertation research with the same alacrity I've shown toward researching my upcoming ports, I would have been ABD for four years. Oh, wait . . .
