I've made it. Woa long drive, my butt hurts. Tell you about the fun drive later. Time to watch some ships sail away.

Host Corkey

I saw Dee and John waving like crazy too. Mr. Fun In The Sun, was that you on the shore in the white pants and blue shirt?

I am following along with you too as well as Chris. We are going to be busy this week on our virtual cruises. Thanks for doing this.

I didn't see anyone in tan shorts, but a man with long white pants and blue shirt got a lot of camera time as well as the Dee and John (Pink Boas).

No I'm not there with you, I'm In Pennsylvania.

Emmy,

Thanks for clearing that up. You not only know all about cruising and ships, I think you must know everybody too. You are a plethora of information. I hope we get to see MrFunInTheSun too. Thanks again.

Oh my gosh, more food porn. We're all gonna gain a lot of pounds on this cruise just looking at all the food. I see your hotel maid is getting you in the cruise mood since I notice the toilet paper had that V-shaped fold like on the ships. That is definitely the cruise ship fold if I've ever seen it. LOL

It's all healthy food though. :-) When on vacation none of that stuff matters. Eat, drink and be merry. :-)

Was fairly an uneventful drive to Fort Lauderdale. The usual long road shenanigans. Not long after the trip started I got to hear some Jimmy Buffet on his channel on Sirius. What better way to start up a vacation!

One Particular Harbor! :-)

null_zpscb3e88ae.jpg

Then as I'm still touring down Interstate 75 watching a few out of state plates with the back seats of the cars loaded with "stuff" and clothes know as snow birds. Welcome back home snow birds. Caught the hits of 1985 on the 80's channel that's hosted by the original MTV DJ's.

Some useless information; this week in 1985 the #1 hit song was "We Built This City" by Starship. I remember this song being played over and over back in the day.

null_zpsad340da0.jpg

The 80's continued with some other great songs that I've not heard in awhile as on my daily life I have a very short commute compared to this great venture.

Ft Myers

null_zpsaecb0c5c.jpg

Can't go wrong with a little Billy Joel.

null_zpscde369ce.jpg

Finally Alligator Alley

Was an overall great and uneventful road trip. Once I arrived in Ft Lauderdale I was a little sad I didn't make it to the inlet. When I arrived I parked at the Hilton and made my way under the bridge area right away to catch the ships sailing off. I was in such a rush as I was so excited to finally be here and then get to watch the ships sail off.

It was right around this point ... That I thought of something...

null_zps8246a795.jpg

Did I lock my car??? Oh snap, is my car unlocked? All these thoughts went through my mind if I didn't lock my door and someone opened the door all they would have to do is pop my trunk and walk off with my suit case and back pack. Oh No! That backpack has all my cruise stuff, but most importantly my passport. Oh crap, but I can't walk away. I've got to watch the Oasis sail away. Then I think to myself if my bag is gone will I have enough time to make it back home again and then back to the port here with my birth certificate? I can't miss this cruise. How could I have forgotten to lock my door?

Finally Oasis twists around the corner and heads out. (Pictures posted earlier) As soon as most of her sailed on I made my way back to my car to find it locked. Phew....

After checking into my room I made my way to Pelican Landing to enjoy a wonderful meal with some new friends! :-) After dinner I headed back to the Hilton enjoying a nice evening outside by the pool bar and an adult beverage surrounded by wonderful people. Great day was had by all!

Till a later time, soon to be "Live" from the Allure of the Seas...

You don't look old enough to know songs from the 80's ... glad your car door was locked - did you lock your House? garage door closed? if you have a garage.... looking forward to your sailaway - what time?

Host Corkey

Haha. Thanks. I'm a product of the very early 70's. :-) House is all set. But the car on the other hand at that time, I rushed so much I did not remember locking it. :-)

Plan on heading to where I'm parking my car around 10:30.
