What is This?

I'm recently off the Pride. Located over the bed in my cabin was this object mounted near the sprinkler head in the ceiling. The 1st pic is the location, 2nd is a close-up.

That is a small magnet they use to hang the room decorations with. I pondered about the same thing in my room before climbing up and checking it out.

Don't believe so, there was two detectors forward in the cabin.

I can tell you this much, had I seen something like that in my cabin, I would have been standing on the bed inspecting it!

 

I hope it was a magnet used to hang the decorations. However, I have learned to trust but verify lol.

Pretty sure it's a motion sensor that they can use to turn off lights or hvac when there is no motion in room. Not sure if they work or if they are used

We'll be on the Pride this weekend. I know I'm going to be checking out the ceiling as soon as I walk in the door of our room.

It looks just like the magnet we had in our cabin from my daughter's birthday decorations. It can be hard to remove all the decorations when you are taking that stuff down. I know I couldn't get it off the ceiling when I tried. Or, I wonder if this is standard in cabins to help the staff be able to put up the decorations. By the way and out of curiosity, were you in cabin 6232 ;)

Makes me kind of nervous......surely looks like a camera lens to me....hmmmmmm!!!! Very questionable.....I will most certainly inspect the ceiling while on the Victory in a few weeks! Duct tape for sure...hahaha

If you look real close at the center of that "thing", it looks like an allen wrench fits in it. On one of our cruises a Maintenance guy came in for a reason that I don't remember and had to get up into the ceiling. There was a thing similar to that on our cabin ceiling. He put an allen wrench in it and it unlocked the ceiling panel. Then it swung down and he worked on whatever was up in there. Maybe that's what that was.
