zookeeper Posted November 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Going on Allure on Dec 1 and don't want to do an excursion in Jamaica. Just wondering if the zip line, rock walls and flow riders, etc.... are open and running while the ship is in port?

Jiffymom Posted November 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2013 All the bars are open. Spa usually offer port day specials. You will find plenty to do.

leaveitallbehind Posted November 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Not to mention the ship will have very little crowds anywhere as most of the passengers will be ashore. Very nice for anything you want to do on board.
mm1251 Posted November 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Not sure if you have done it before, but we like walking around the port shops in Falmouth. Sit down and have a Red Stripe (although they aren't any cheaper in port!).
zookeeper Posted November 21, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted November 21, 2013 We don't care for Jamaica at all. Been there, done that, tired of being hassled! If we go onshore in Falmouth, do you get bothered by vendors or is it more like a RC controlled venue? Don't need any souvineers as we will one day sailaway on our 47' sailboat and there is no room for extras anyway! Looking forward to having the ship to ourselves -- all thousand's who are left that day anyway!

Not as bad as other places, but it will happen. In the middle is a market where they sell odds and ends and do hair braiding, etc. These folks are always extremely friendly. We have noticed the ship is never as empty in Jamaica as it is in other ports. ;) Edited November 21, 2013 by mm1251
OCruisers Posted November 21, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 21, 2013 We didn't find any aggressive vendors in the cruise terminal area in Falmouth. It's nothing like the "real Jamaica" there. In fact, you don't even know you are in Jamaica in you only stay within the cruise terminal area. This can be good or bad ... depending.
