kcwingwalker Posted November 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2013 Rooms will be hard to come by in NOLA the first weekend of April and there will be lots of traffic. About 125,000 fans will take part in WrestleMania XXX activities around New Orleans. The four-day gathering climaxes with a pay-per-view event at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. http://www.nola.com/festivals/index.ssf/2013/11/wrestlemania_30_promise_new_or.html So plan ahead! kcwingwalker Posted November 25, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Hotels are already scarce or expensive..... Yes, we are planning on driving part of the way on Saturday and staying outside of NOLA. On Sunday we can do the rest of drive and arrive in NOLA in the morning. hattack Posted November 25, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Look for hotels in the La Place area (35 miles west from New Orleans on I-10)...not sure, but there may be shuttle service to the Port

PhotoPete Posted November 25, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 25, 2013 If you are driving, the Mississippi Gulf Coast has plenty of hotel rooms at several of the larger casinos. It is an easy 1.5 hour drive to the port.
candygirl27540 Posted November 26, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) We sailed Super Bowl Sunday  last year out of NOLA! Talk about No room at the Inns. Searched for weeks until a kind B&B owner(who had no rooms) sent me this...http://www.bbnola.com Turned out to be an excellent source of info about rooms available. Found a great place within walking distance of the Quarter. Clean, great restaurant, and affordable with wonderful friendly owners. One of the coolest places we have stayed in ever. "Balcony Guest House" was the place. We had 6 people and needed 3 rooms and wanted 2 nights. We had back up plans to stay in Biloxi, which btw, is also a good plan if nothing is found in NO, but I was very glad not to have to rent a van and drive the morning of the cruise. P.S. It was also Mardi Gras!!!! Edited November 26, 2013 by candygirl27540 spelling
