excursions in St. Martin

Looking for something to do in St. Martin. We plan on going to Marigot. Is Mullet Beach nice?

There's always Maho Beach to watch the airplanes. You can do that for $2 per person, one-way, in a taxi.

We've always been partial to Orient Bay Beach in Saint Maarten. Beautiful white sand and crystal blue waters. Most cruise lines feature a reasonably priced excursion here in the neighborhood of fifty or sixty for two people. Lovely spot.

We were just there, it was a lot of fun, and the beach was fun as well. The cost is more than $2 one way. From the port the cost for the water taxi is $7 pp for the entire day or regular taxi for $3-$4. This takes you to the shopping district. From there a taxi cost us $4 pp one way. The drive is about 20 minutes to the airport. So total pp round trip is roughly $14-$16

You are correct, I meant to say "bus" instead of "taxi" in my earlier post. Thanks for the catch!:)

 

Plus, we usually skip the water taxi and walk to the shopping district.

If you want to go to the beach you need to take a taxi. The more people on your taxi the less it will be per person. We love Orient beach. St Martin is so easy as far as getting your taxi. Just go behind the information center and stand under the sign of the place you want to go. Prices are posted on a big board so you will know exactly what it costs.

 

The water taxi is good if you want a quick way downtown to shop. You will see a beach right where it lets people off, but I would not recommend swimming there. A couple of the local folks on the St Martin board will let you know that water is polluted. Has a problem with run-off especially after it rain. They always say you will never find any local people swimming there.

 

St martin is my favorite port......enjoy!!

Most fun we have had on St Martin is the America's Cup sail boat racing. You get to crew the America's Cup, True North, or a third one (can't remember name).

 

I didn't think a sailboat could move that fast.

I agree Bernard tours is a great value and they take you all over the island.

Maho Beach is at the airport where the planes land, I agree, look on utube it is quite amazing to watch. You can enjoy the water and watch the planes land at the same time.

Captain Bob Cass and his speedboat tour of St. Martin-- google him and read reviews on Tripadvisor.

It was great to snorkel, see the sights, watch the planes at Maho, all from the water and away from the often congested roads.

Here is another vote for Bernard's Tour. We had a full day of fun which encompassed both sides of the island. There was sightseeing, shopping, beach time, meet and greet with creatures, and the all time favorite...close encounters with the planes as they landed at Princess Juliana International Airport. Bernard was our driver for the day. The van(s) was very clean and modern.
