KikisDad Posted December 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2013 I understand that each dining room on the Sapphire has a special unique meal. Can anyone list what they are? thanks.
giselleacttwo Posted December 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Santa Fe: Fajitas Pacific Moon: Seafood dish with scallops, rice noodles, and a teriyaki sauce. I think it had shrimp as well. My husband loves this dish. Savoy: Pork chops We were on the Sapphire last month and they didn't always announce the special and it wasn't on the menu. Sometimes you need to ask. Edited December 10, 2013 by giselleacttwo
giselleacttwo Posted December 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Just to add, not sure if Vivaldi and International Dining Rooms had specials. The latter was full time TD and the former was part-time TD and we never had dinner in either. We thought the service in Pacific Moon was outstanding compared to the others so we preferred to dine there.
TM Posted December 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Didn't one of them used to do Osso Bucco as the special or has that been discontinued?
giselleacttwo Posted December 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2013 It's possible Osso Bucco was a choice in the Vivaldi or International DR, but when we were on last month it wasn't in the three I listed. We specifically inquired about the signature dishes in the three we went to and that is what they had.

lv2cruiseanywhere Posted December 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2013 We were on the Sapphire Princess a couple of weeks ago, from Nov. 23 to 30 and there were no specials in the International Dining Room, late traditional seating. It was at 7:45pm, not 8:15pm as shown on-line.
Rare geoherb Posted December 10, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2013 We had traditional dining in the International Dining room on both of our Sapphire Princess cruises. I was able to order the special entrees from the other dining rooms. One was the osso buco. One of our waiters made a big production of saying he had to ask his assistant head waiter if it was OK for me to order. The other waiter just took my order without any comment about it being a problem.

We spent 3 weeks on the Sapphire last year and had Traditional dining in International Dining Room. The Head Waiter came over and offered "Fajitas" to us the next night. He made it sound like he was making something special for us when I knew it was offered in another dining room. He then said if we wanted them again, just to ask. I think if you ask for any of the 4 items, they will probably come through for you. They may not mention it though. IECalCruiser Posted December 11, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) All of the DRs on Fiesta deck (6), International, Santa Fe and Pacific Moon share one large galley area. It shouldn't be a problem to get the fajitas or Asian dish in any of those DRs. Same would go for Savoy and Vivaldi on Plaza deck (5) for the pork chops or Osso Bucco. We don't do traditional dining but we had no problem getting the fajitas in the Pacific Moon a couple of years ago.
