transportation from airport to hotel

Can anyone give me any idea of how much a cab will cost from FLL airport to our hotel which will be about 7 miles away?

Many area hotels have a shuttle service. Be sure to check. We recently paid $19 + tip from the cruise port to Fairfield Inn on Griffin Road. I think that is about seven miles. Area rates are reasonable.

Thanks! We are staying a family run hotel, that has got good reviews. Coming in late sat evening, so did not want anything fancy.

I am thinking a car rental would work, but can you drop cars off at the port?

I would call the hotel. They probably know a range. It will be in a price range because the port isn't one spot. It is over a mile from the northern terminal to the southern. The taxi fare won't be huge.

 

By the way, lots of area specific info over on the Florida Departures board. No, you can't return a taxi at the port. Taxi is the far more efficient way to do this.

We found you can rent for as little as 30 a day and return the car with a free shuttle to cruise port. Drop your luggage off at cruise port before you drop the car, that way the transfer is easy and for us the luggage got to the ship room faster:)

Correct. Typo on my part... You can't return a rental to the port.

 

As to the rental for $30/day, well, that doesn't include gas, and in your situation, your taxi will probably not exceed $30. Plus picking up and returning rentals takes time. You are coming in late, and boarding the next day. No need for a rental.
